About Hearing Tracker

The team behind HearingTracker.com

21 October 2019

HearingTracker.com was launched in 2013 as the world’s first truly-independent shopping resource for hearing aid consumers. Prior to HearingTracker.com, there was no online resource that allowed consumers to provide written feedback and ratings on specific hearing aid models. Information was very limited, and at the time, consumers had almost no way to do their own product research. Often the only resources available were the marketing materials produced by the hearing aid companies themselves.

How we support the platform

Over the past few years, HearingTracker.com has welcomed millions of people—from all over the globe—to provide their input and participate in our online community. We have learned so much from all of you, and are working hard to ensure that this resource will remain available for years to come.

We are 100% independently-owned and operated, and engage in the following activities to financially support the resource:

We sell Duracell, Rayovac, and PowerOne hearing aid batteries at deeply-discounted prices in our online hearing aid battery shop. Our prices include shipping and taxes within the United States. Batteries are guaranteed fresh.

When you purchase hearing aids from the HearingTracker.com battery shop, you are helping to support our unique independent resource. And, a big thank you to our thousands of customers so far!

We accept money from hearing aid companies to increase the visibility of their products. On a desktop computer, you will see a list of “Featured Products” on the sidebar of this webpage. On a mobile device, you will see the same list below the content of this article.

We accept money from hearing clinics to increase the visibility of their businesses. On a desktop computer, you may see a list of “Featured Practices” on the sidebar of this webpage. On a mobile device, you may see the same list below the content of this article. Featured practices are only listed if nearby hearing healthcare clinics are found in our database.

In addition to being featured on the sidebar, and on our clinic finder map, clinics that support Hearing Tracker receive a dedicated web page for their business.

On a desktop computer, you will see banner ad on the top of this webpage, and another ad on sidebar (below the featured products and any nearby featured listings). On a mobile device, you will see a small banner on the top of the page, and another near the bottom. Our display ads are manually-placed by the Hearing Tracker team.

Subscribers to HearingTracker.com’s newsletter will occasionally receive advertisements that are sponsored by hearing aid companies or other third parties.

We cover a variety of topics in our News section. From hearing technology and product news to hearing loss lifestyle pieces, we try to publish the stories that matter the most to our readers. Occasionally (about once a month) we will also publish a sponsored article from one of our supporters. We always mark sponsored articles with the headline “Presented by [Company Name]”, so you’ll know ahead of time whether the story is strictly editorial or influenced by an advertiser.

We are clear with our corporate supporters when it comes to editorial content. The editorial team at Hearing Tracker has complete independence from our advertisers, and we tell consumers about the pros and cons of every product, regardless of whether or not we have an advertising relationship with any manufacturer.

Subscribers to HearingTracker.com’s newsletter will occasionally receive occasional requests to participate in paid (or unpaid) research opportunities. Research opportunities may be funded by HearingTracker.com or by third-party companies or institutions. When we send an invite to participate in research, we will include details on whether or not the research is being conducted by HearingTracker.com, or a third-party organization.
