How far into the canal do I push the little rubber umbrella on my RIC hearing aid?

The little elbow of the RIC wire should be neatly tucked into the notch above the triangular cartilage in front of your ear canal (the tragus), and the wire should be flush against the side of your head. The little rubber umbrella (often called a dome) will not be pushed in too deep because the wire is manufactured to a specific length that is shorter than the length of your ear canal.
