I am about to get my first hearing aid having lost hearing in one ear in 1969. I don't like to rush into things. I have visited three clinics and their recommendations have been either Phonak BiCros or Resound Linx2 with a Multi Mic. Thoughts?

Two different solutions. To give you a direct and quick answer: my preferred choice for unilateral profound losses would be Phonak Bi-CROS. Most clinics would offer you a trial period allowing you the opportunity to trial both then you choose what suits your loss, life style and personal preference better. 

I am looking for a BiCros hearing aid. Currently on trial with Audibel A4i Platinum and trying to find the right hearing aid. What manufacturer is recommended? Any other suggestions?

Hi - as other's have already mentioned, both Widex and Phonak have excellent BiCROS devices you could try.  Audibel is Starkey - so you are already demoing that system.  Although the device you choose is important, choosing the professional you will be working with is just as important, if not more so.  Make sure you are working with an audiologist who you are comfortable with, who listens to you, and who you can trust.  It is so much less about finding the "right" device and so much more about finding the "right" provider who will help you hear your...
