About Kylie B.

Hi. New member here. I've used your forum for many years to learn about aids from real users. Thank you.  I won't name names but several of you have been especially helpful.  I finally decided to register:). I have a unique situation.  I went completely deaf in right ear following brain surgery 12 years ago. Never wore hearing aids before that. My left ear has moderate to severe loss so have one aid for that. Without a hearing aid, I cannot live a functional life. With ha no one even knows I have disability unless I tell them. The opn1 is my 3rd ha. All have been Oticon (replaced saffron and Agil). But I've trialed phonak bi cros a few times and rexton at Costco. They were fine but no huge improvement to justify the cost. I waited for the opn 1 mini rite T to be released in June so I could have volume contol on aid. With only one aid I could only change volume on iPhone which was pain. I love the opn. Hearing on phone calls and tv/radio via Bluetooth is the biggest improvement and made it easier to justify upgrading the Agil.

Hearing tracker sent me two packs of power one 312 batteries for registering and reviewing my Opn. Thanks, but they are terrible. I've never used power one cause I have my center's private label brand which I've had no issues with. The first pack I had 3 of the 6 batteries fail, one immediately, one after a couple hours and one after about 7 hours. The other 3 lasted 3-4 days which is my norm depending on how much streaming Bluetooth I do. I'll give the second pack a try after the holidays cause I don't want to mess with it. With my new Opn I got a box of power one from the Audi but hadn't used cause I was finishing up my other supply. Hope it's a fluke that I got a bad card. The date was 2021-06 so they weren't old that I can tell.
