Does healthcare insurance ever cover the cost of hearing aid accessories like TV streamers, etc?

Most healthcare insurance will not cover the cost of hearing device accessories. However, you can always ask your insurance provider the details regarding your hearing aid benefit. Every insurance provider has slightly different coverage.

I agree with Dr. Burrington.  Each insurance plan is different and it's recommended you or your provider call to get confirmation of the benefits.  There are several Health Care Common Procedure Codes (HCPCS) that are designated for assistive devices which may be helpful when you phone your insurance company.  See American Speech Language Hearing Association web page for complete code listing https://www.asha.org.  In my experience, those few and far between policies that do have hearing aid benefits are limited to only new hearing aid purchases, not repairs or accessories.  Best of luck.

In Australia, so far in last 15 years I haven't come across any private insurer cover the cost of accessories including streamers.  However, may be worthwhile calling up ur provider and finding out.

Do not expect any insurance carriers to cover accessories. I have never seen one pay for accessories. Your best bet is to ask the provider to include them into the purchase of your hearing aids if the hearing aids are covered by insurance.

If you have hearing benefits written into your policy,  accessories may be covered.    Check your benefits if you have private health insurance.  Medicare will not pay for anything hearing aid related.
