Phonak Naída Q Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

Phonak Naída Q Q50 Phonak Naída Q UP

Five years ago I got a Naida Q50 UP.

It was a big leap for the better, old Naida was in bad shape and when I got new appliances for me it was a leap for the better because in an instant the intelligibility of the people I was talking to was raised.

The sound I admit was a bit artificial but it didn’t matter, it was more important that I understood what they were saying to me.

There have been situations where there is noise, say I am sitting in a restaurant where there are over 100 people and everyone is talking to each other and I was disappointed. I couldn’t be a part of people to enjoy as much as they did.

Although there are separate microphones like "remote mic" but still it is not perfect.

At that time a little later I bought Compilot, (compilot 1) which is compatible with Naid (quest version hearing aids) that device was very perishable, the quality very poor. i have to admit i had 2 replaced on service, and i bought 2 more later when the warranty on ebay expired.

The disappointment was also in why the Compilot cannot be universal for all types of HA. For example, versions of Compilot 2 (for venture) came out, a little later Compilot Air, which does not have a collar. I was disappointed because Compilot for Quest stopped being produced and my dealer in Croatia no longer had it on sale. I later searched for it at a foreign store and managed to find it on ebay, so I bought 2.

One that I use at home for tv etc and the other that I use on the go while driving a car and working at work. I realized that the compilot of that version, if sensitive if used constantly, is sensitive because it is easily broken, so I bought 2 devices because I may no longer be able to buy again and Health Insurance in Croatia now provides help with buying HA every 7 years . They pay only a part of the price and I pay the rest because I want a better quality hearing aid.

I belong to a person who is a Geek, a computer enthusiast and I am looking forward to new hearing aids. I'm glad that they have a bluetooth chip in them and that Widex has introduced the "Sound sense learn" option in the new series of devices, which means that I can adjust the programs to my liking, adjust the sound to my conditions where I am and later HA will be able to turn on that program when it recognizes the environment in which I find myself.

I would like even more options around adjusting hearing aids, because often sometimes it’s easier to do it yourself than with an audiologist. For example, there are situations when I cannot tell an audiologist what I want, because when I come to his office then it is a quiet office and not the same conditions I want. so I would like the possibility that I have a better equalizer through which I would adjust everything to details like a DSLR camera.

I know there are people who don’t want it because they don’t understand but I wish the basrem existed for those who like advanced customization options.

Thank you for hearing.

As my ears get very itchy from traditional earmolds, I can only where domes (RIC type hearing aids). This does not give me the perfect hearing aid result, but it's the only way I can use hearing aids. And I find the RIC hearing aids very comfortable to wear. It is often still a big challenge to hear people and understand what they say, even in quiet environments, but I manage. I hardly ever use my phone. If I do it is with the help from the compilot and that is quite ok.

After 7 years of daily use they have been pretty rugged. Have had to replace the tubing once in both ears. Had to replace my original audiologist/company (Sonus) because theywere rude and very unhelpful. Gave me no choice but most expensive HA on the market at the time. Too many bells and whistles. Could not adjust to my liking. Changed to Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and have had better results.

I have been wearing my hearing aids for almost 5 years (next month) and am due to buy new ones. The current ones have recently started to create often feedback noises and the dispenser could not help. I am considering doing it myself. Overall I was happy with it.

The Naida Q70 UP hearing aid has a cut in the sidewalls where water gets into it when worn for a long time, I made up nothing with a transparent tape. And each time it is necessary to dry on a special device designed for hearing aids.

The main problem is that music is distorted, Perhaps because my wife has A loss of 110 DB so the volume is maxed out. I'm looking for something better for that reason. She only hears in her right Ear and has the Cros For the left.

These are very exceptional hearing aids as I had a previous Seimen version and these are higher in quality and I hear more clearer and can catch more words than my previous hearing aids. While not high end flagship, these do very well for middle range pricing and the quality is very well done. I been wearing these 4 months now as my other hearing aids were 5 years old. But as far as now I love my hearing aids and hopes it continues to serve me well.

Vast improvement over my old digital aids. Still can't use telephones, but my hearing problems are at fault. ( word recognition) Phonak has improved my quality of life. I was skeptical before and wasn't expecting much, but WOW. Thanks to my hearing professionals and phonak.

I use a ComPilot to take cell phone calls with Bluetooth, and that works excellently! It is a miracle! I can't say enough about how excited I am about it. On a landline phone, I hear better without my hearing aids in.

I have been through several hearing aids and everyone of them I would not use very long due to being uncomfortable to not hearing things clearly like voices and music. I would end up leaving them in the dresser drawer. I even donated a few to hearing professionals. Now this is my second Phonak hearing aid my first was pretty good for the time but i ended up losing it. Now my second Phonak hearing aids the Nadia Q50 UP BTE are wonderful! I am able to hear sounds I have not hear in a long time. I can finally understand conversations in quiet or noisy environments. And the best part are being able to use the phone and listening to music. something that my older hearing aids could not quite do. I wear them all the time and I would not leave the house without them, it's something I never did before. I am still getting used to them and have my program changed a couple times to fit my daily needs. I love these hearing aids and I am glad the technology has really improved over time. I can't thank Phonak enough for making such leaps and bounds with hearing aids.

So far, so good. When I first got them, I had a series of shorts in the receiver/connector. In one case, the receiver broke off in my ear canal, and I had to go to the Aud to have it removed. Good thing she was willing to come in on a Saturday. And that wasn't the only time a receiver broke. Now, the left one is off at the shop (mfgr) due to a different kind of intermittent short, in which the aid would just turn off, and then, in some cases, boot itself back up before I even realized it was dead. Other times, I'd realize it was dead and click the battery out and in, and it would reboot. Changing the battery did not solve the problem.

These are my first digital hearing aids, I had shopped for hearing aids at an earlier time and tried digital hearing aids when they were first out but did not get any because digital was so new and I felt that the digital hearing aids at the time were filtering out too much noise, it was too quiet and I struggled to hear speech. These hearing aids are what I consider 2nd or 3rd wave of digital hearing aids and they work much better. I got these specifically because I have uneven bilateral hearing loss and one big frustration I had with my analog hearing aids was I had to adjust volume on both hearing aids, but I couldn't figure out how to get volume to be equal on both ears, I just had to guess, but it wasn't something I could intuitively sense or know. I couldn't just set left hearing aid to 3 and right hearing aid to 3, I had more hearing loss in one side than the other. So the main thing I wanted was hearing aids that would automatically adjust the volume on both hearing aids so that it was perceptually the same volume. These hearing aids do that, and it does it well. The downside is that to do this, the hearing aids use blue tooth technology and highly sophisticated digital processing algorithms, and this technology drains the batteries fast. My analog hearing aids used to last 2 weeks with size 13 batteries, with these Naida Super Power hearing aids my size 13 batteries last a week. The other main feature I really wanted was the ability to switch programs on the hearing aid itself, I despise remote controls, they're easy to lose and require batteries and just an overall hassle. Another check for these hearing aids. Music was also really important to me so I wanted to make sure that my next purchase had a "flat" mode with minimal digital processing or manipulation, these hearing aids has a music mode that comes close to that, there's still some processing that happens but there's definitely much less sound filtered out so for my purposes this is another check for me on things I wanted out of my hearing aids. Being able to hear in group conversations is the biggest test of any hearing aid for me, and these hearing aids disapoint. It has a directional mode but it only helps me in one on one situations in a noisy environment which is good, but I can't communicate in one on two or more situations. This hearing aid has a manually controllable audio zoom feature, but it only works if you buy and use the remote. So on this point I feel neutral, it's better than my old analog hearing aids (I would not have been able to talk one on one in a noisy environment before) but still feel it should have done better considering how much power these hearing aids have in it's digital processing tool kit, it should be able to tell who is close (about 4 feet) and dampen or exclude noise that is farther away. So I'm only giving it a half check mark in this department. I also wanted to be able to listen to my iphone or computer using bluetooth, and my audiologist said I could with these, but I later found out that it was only by using a neck loop, which I tried, and it's terrible. There is a constant static when I listen to music and the sound quality is poor, it's basically using bluetooth technology to connect the source (computer/smartphone/car stereo system) to the neck loop and then fm technology from the neck loop to the hearing aids… Big drawback here, plus the hearing aids drain really fast when I use bluetooth on these hearing aids. I find it's not worth the hassle of syncing and the battery drain and the terrible sound quality. I prefer to just use earphones without hearing aids when I'm listening to music privately, or to wear my hearing aids for regular tv of when I'm using speakers on my computer for music or videos and movies etc. Big negative on this point with these hearing aids. There are now hearing aids that connect directly to iphones, although I hear the quality is not so great with those either, and again, faster drain on the batteries. Since the market demand for this feature is high I'm sure the hearing aid manufacturers will continue to improve the quality of this type of feature and technology. I'm an active person, and I needed hearing aids that would take some sweat, these hearing aids do that, they might survive a second if you forget to remove your hearing aids when you hop in the shower, but these hearing aids are not water proof at all. It was pretty stressful as a scuba diver wearing these hearing aids. I needed to be able to hear people on the boat as briefing happens there and sometimes I myself would give the briefing and needed to be able to hear people's questions so I could answer them. I would have to put these in a waterproof box while I was diving as water gets everywhere on the boat from gear soaking in fresh water in buckets and the like. These hearing aids get half a check here, not water proof but at least water resistant. I look forward to the day when we can dive with hearing aids down to 90 meters or more, today the best a water proof hearing aid can do is 3 feet. With time and demand my wish may become a reality. Or something may replace the hearing aid completely by then. So overall I feel these hearing aids meet the most important criteria I had at the time in which I bought them, but there are better offerings on the market now that would satisfy more of what I want out of a hearing aid even if there's still no perfect hearing aid that gives you equal to a hearing person's ability to hear and distinguish sound and to participate in conversations.

Extremely reliable even in a humid environment. Telephone use with the iCom connection is excellent but battery logistics limit usefulness; telecoil operation has been problematic since the aids switch off during pauses in the conversation. The start up delay (ca. 30 seconds) can be aggravating when someone is waiting to talk with you. Actually, I have Naida IX SP aids rather than the current Naida Q70 SP aids which appear to have similar specifications.

I have always have had analog hearing aids and was very nervous about getting digital. The sound quality is amazing and the advantage of having some of the background noises cut back makes a world of a different. I am really enjoying the benefits I have with Phonak. I have the ComPilot which makes my communication much more enjoyable.

At church we have an FM system, and I was able to use the FM receiver and remote control and was able to hear everything from anywhere in the building. I also have a neckloop with a receiver as a good alternative option. The FM and remote control is clearer.

I have worn hearing aids for over 35 years. As my hearing declinded, hearing aids have improved so greatly. I now wear a Cochlear Implant in my right ear and hearing aid in the left here. Together they give me more balance of where sound is coming from. I feel both enhance my hearing.

I am a long-time hearing aids user and recently was fit with these hearing aids. I have a severe loss, but with them speech has been wonderful, even pretty good in background noise. The aids came with this device called a ComPilot that links my aids to my cell phone and it works very well. I did have some trouble in the car, but my audiologist helped me with that by setting up a "Zoom" setting; if I push the button on the right aid until I hear the 3rd beep it zooms right so I can hear the passenger. If I AM the passenger, I push the button on the left aid until I hear the 3rd beep, and it zooms left so I can hear the driver. If I want to hear the people in the back seat, I push the button on the ComPilot until I hear the 3rd beep, and it zooms backwards (also kind of fun if I want to evesdrop on the people sitting behind me in restaurants!). Music is OK; with my last aids music always sounded out-of-tune. With these, they still sound a bit out-of-tune, but not as bad as the last aids. Overall, I like these a lot. I'm a consultant, travel a lot, and I'm in a lot of meetings so they have made a big difference.
