About the Signia Pure X

With integrated acoustic motion sensors, the Xperience hearing aids are designed for people on the move. They are based on the brand’s YourSound technology platform, its next-generation upgrade from the previous Nx platform.

The Nx chipset and sound processing software introduced Own Voice Processing (OVP) technology, which makes the hearing aid wearer’s own voice sound more natural by processing it separately from other sounds. The Xperience YourSound platform includes OVP along with acoustic motion sensors that let the hearing aids know when you’re on the move; then, “Dynamic Soundscape Processing” constantly responds to the changes in your listening environment.

The Xperience sound processing chip simultaneously handles multiple tasks. Among other things, it balances directional focus and omnidirectional focus while processing the wearer's own voice separately. That means when you're sitting at a table in a noisy restaurant, the hearing aids can provide noise reduction and narrow-focus directionality. Then, when you get up and start moving through the restaurant, the sensors allow the hearing aids to adapt with omni-focus, so that you hear more of the sounds that surround you.

Signia says the Xperience chip that powers the YourSound system includes 80% more transistors and seven times the memory of the previous Signia Nx chip, while being 60% smaller. As a result, the Pure® 312 X and the Pure® Charge&Go X, are smaller yet more powerful than their predecessors.

Two Signia Pure upgrades, plus a multipurpose app

The two Xperience hearing aids are improved versions of Signia Pure receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids. One is powered by disposable batteries and the other by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. To help manage Bluetooth pairing, program settings, and other accessories, Signia also introduced a new smartphone app that integrates the functions of multiple previous apps.

The Signia Pure 312 X features a more discreet design than previous Signia Pure models. Powered by long-lasting size-312 batteries, it features Bluetooth connectivity for streaming of phone calls, music, and TV audio, and an optional T-coil.

The Signia Pure Charge&Go X is a rechargeable receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aid with Bluetooth connectivity. Improved lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are 16% smaller and provide 20% more charging capacity than the previous Signia Pure Charge&Go Nx. The devices also feature a new rocker switch for easier adjustments and comes with a new inductive charger that also works as a dehumidifier.

The new Signia App is a smartphone app that combines three previous apps into one unified environment. It works with both iPhones and Android smartphones and provides:

  • Direct contact and remote support from your hearing care professional
  • Control for volume, directionality, stereo balance, and program settings
  • Connectivity management for phone, music, and TV streaming accessories

Smartphone and Bluetooth connectivity

Like the previous Signia Nx models, Signia Xperience hearing aids are Made-for-iPhone and can be connected directly to Apple devices for phone calls and audio streaming, without additional accessories. For Android devices and other Bluetooth mobile devices, direct streaming hands-free audio is possible with Signia's StreamLine Mic with an accessory streamer worn around the neck or clipped to the collar. And a high-quality stereo TV signal can be streamed directly to the Signia Xperience hearings aids with the StreamLine TV accessory.

Signia Pure X Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

I like how discreet it is and how reliable it is. I like the rose gold option and the app with mask mode. The rechargable is great!

While talking on my iPhone via Bluetooth, my Charge & Go 5x hearing aids both shut down (Sometimes is it just on aid) and I am not able to turn them back on. The only way to turn them back on is via the charger. The on/off button does not work. That does not help when I’m not home. The app loses the bluetooth connection so the hearing aids become useless until I get back home and use the charger. I place them in the charger until it turns green and when I check the battery, it is fully charged.

The Bluetooth feature is very 'hit and miss' and not at all reliable.

Streaming is the best thing that has happened to hearing aids ever!

I still can't hear very well, even with good programming of the hearing aids.  Masks make things worse.

Just upgraded from my old Siemens Pure hearing aids, and I cannot believe what I have been missing all these years. Those Pure hearing aids were absolute garbage (avoid them like the plague). I took a chance on Signia after reading they were essentially the new Siemens brand, but not regretting my decision. I have no idea if the motion sensor stuff is doing me any good, but I can say the hearing does seem 10x more natural than what I was getting with the Pures, and I can finally here my wife when we go out to eat. I haven't had them for more than a week, so I'll come back and update my review if things change, or I think of anything else to write here. Oh, one more thing, the connection to my iPhone has been really helpful for me... Hearing phone calls in both ears is glorious.

I cannot recommend this device. As low-end hearing aids go it works fairly well, but it suffers from a ridiculous design fault that effectively demands the cable from the device to the ear to fatigue and break at monotonous intervals of a two or three months. With repairs costing nearly $100 per fix, this is  a very expensive hearing aid to run.

I cannot believe that a design so flaky and inevitably self-destructive can be allowed to go on sale. Consumer laws in most countries include the term 'not fit for purpose' in their justifications for replacement/repair. According to my bank statements, Signa in Australia does not seem to be aware of this.

My aids keep cutting out. The streaming part remains functional but the microphones suddenly stop working and I cannot adjust them from the accessibility part of my phone settings, from the Signia app, or from the hearing aids themselves.  This is my second pair in several weeks as I had this problem with the first pair.  So frustrating!

I'm trialing the Signia Ax 7/ 5's. I've found the bluetooth app to be worthless. However, there's a perfectly good work around. Go into 'settings' on the app and turn off bluetooth. Then choose the next setting up. It's a non bluetooth connection to the HA's. I should say that this is true for the Ax MODELS, but I bet it's true for all models using the phone app.

I did try with Signia Pure 7X for three weeks. I did program it many times to get a better result, but not as I expected. The sound speech is clear and not too bad. but overall the devices are not convenient to compare with my old hearing aids (Oticon Nera)
