Eargo 6 expert review
HearingTracker audiologist Matthew Allsop recently had a chance to review a pair of Eargo 6 hearing aids. He even had his father try them out. Check out his expert review and buying recommendation:

Connectivity and streaming
Like Eargo’s previous hearing aids, Eargo 6 does not support streaming audio from Bluetooth-enabled devices. If you do receive a phone call while wearing Eargo, you would simply hold the phone to your ear and take the call as you normally would. Eargo 6, like Eargo’s other products, come with both open and closed ear tips. However, even with closed ear tips, as they are not custom fit, the hearing aids will generally provide a more “open-fitting”, meaning your ear canal is not sealed off by the device. More open fits have a higher risk of acoustic feedback whenever an object (like a phone) gets too close to your ear. It may help to hold the phone at an angle or slight distance from the ear to minimize any feedback. However, Eargo 6 and other Eargo products also incorporate a feedback reduction system to help minimize feedback, so depending on your hearing aid settings, feedback may not be an issue.
Sound Adjust
Previous Eargo Products allowed you to adjust your hearing aids to your listening environment by changing the program with a tap of the ear or via an available app. Within the app you could also adjust treble and bass to change the sound of the devices. In other words, you manually adjusted the hearing aids depending on your listening situation. Now, with Eargo 6 and the introduction of “Sound Adjust” the hearing aids will automatically make programming changes depending on your listening environment. For example, if the hearing aid automatically senses a noisy environment, the noise reduction algorithm may engage along with other programming changes. What changes are made exactly based upon the listening environment is not disclosed by Eargo. The environmental classification feature is common to most digital hearing aids on the market but is new to the Eargo and is only available within the Eargo 6 product. Like all automatic classification systems within hearing aids, the intent of the feature is to improve overall listening comfort and ease of use.
Improved Noise Reduction
Eargo 6 features an improved noise reduction system compared to previous products in that it acts on environmental noise more quickly and works in conjunction with the new Sound Adjust feature. Eargo notes that this results in a more robust noise reduction system compared to Eargo 5. They also note that the algorithm “reduces loud background noise and noise between pauses in speech, while leaving the speech energy unaffected.” The goal of any noise reduction algorithm is to help improve listening comfort in loud environments such as noisy restaurants.
It should also be noted that none of the Eargo product offerings offer directional microphones. Directional microphones are one of the best ways to minimize environmental noise for a hearing aid wearer and have the proven ability to improve speech understanding in many noisy situations. However, adding directional microphones to a hearing aid requires space for the microphone ports on the faceplate of the hearing aid as well as space for the electronics within the casing. Unfortunately, CIC hearing aids usually do not have the real-estate to incorporate directional microphones. It's a trade-off of cosmetics over added microphones and functionality. Still, the good news is that because the hearing aids are seated within your ear canal, the sounds that reach the microphones is already naturally sound treated by your ear (pinna and concha) providing a limited amount of natural directionality. While this is beneficial, it’s unlikely that the natural directionality of your ear would be as helpful as today’s current directional microphones which employ sophisticated programming to make the best of noise reduction strategies.
Water Resistance
Eargo 6 now boasts an “ingress protection” or IP rating of IPX 7 which means the hearing aids can survive water exposure for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter or less. While this doesn’t mean you should go swimming with your hearing aids in place, it does mean that if you drop them in water or forget you have them on when you get in the shower, the odds are, they will continue to work. Previous Eargo products do not carry an IP rating.
New Mask Mode
Now available in both the new Eargo 6 as well as the Eargo 5, mask mode is a feature intended to improve speech understanding when the person you are speaking with is wearing a mask. Several hearing aid companies have introduced a similar feature because of the Covid-19 pandemic. As we have all experienced, masks can make it difficult to follow a conversation and this is especially true for those affected with hearing loss. The new mask mode provides a high-frequency boost where speech sounds are often muffled by the mask.
Sound Match
Sound Match is a feature introduced with Eargo 5 and continues with Eargo 6. After completing a 10-minute tone-based hearing test using your Eargo devices, Sound Match creates a unique sound profile for each hearing aid. The purpose of the test is to better meet your individual hearing needs. As the hearing test is conducted through the hearing aids themselves, the results will reflect your individual ear shape as well as the acoustics of your selected ear tips. Once you’ve completed Sound Match, the app provides a “normal” program from which any other program changes are based.

Customer support and warranty
Eargo provides lifetime professional support for its hearing devices. Support is provided via the phone or smart phone app (depending on model chosen) by Hearing Care Professionals (HCPs) at the company who can answer your questions and recommend sound settings. All Eargo hearing instruments come with a 45-day full-refund policy. So, if for whatever reason you are not satisfied with the Eargo product, you can return it without a cost to you.
Eargo warranties the Eargo 6 hearing aid for 2 years; all other products carry a 1-year warranty. Should your hearing aid(s) need replacing during the warranty period there is no charge. However, if you are outside of your warranty period, Eargo will replace your hearing aid for a $249 charge. Eargo does not repair their hearing aids, they simply provide a replacement when needed.
The Eargo App
With Eargo 6 and 5, you can use the mobile phone app as a remote control for muting your hearing aids, changing listening programs, adjusting volume, tone, and background noise level. You can also change listening programs by tapping your ear if you prefer that over the app. As with their previous models, product support is provided for the lifetime of the hearing aid. With Eargo 6, 5, and Neo Hi Fi products, customer support can be accessed via the app, over the phone, or via online chat. You can schedule an appointment with an Eargo hearing professional via the app at any time. With Eargo 6 and 5 the company also provides “field upgrades” to the charger and hearing aids, which means those devices may receive future software enhancements.

Eargo financing
Eargo provides an option to finance your hearing aid purchase through Ally Lending over 12 or 24 months with interest rates ranging from 0% to 29.99% APR. Before purchasing with the financing option, be sure to read this article, by Laura Wadsten at The Capitol Forum, in which Wadsten raises some concerns about the financing option and accuses Eargo of slow-walking customer service requests within its 45-day return window. HearingTracker has not independently verified these claims.
Iterative improvements
Through the years the company has continued to improve its signature CIC form factor, making it smaller and improving the “off-the-shelf” fit of the instruments. They have also continued to improve the sound processing. With Eargo 6 the primary improvements seen over Eargo 5 are the previously discussed enhanced noise reduction algorithm, improved water-resistance rating and the new automatic sound processing feature, Sound Adjust. The size of the hearing aid, the ear tips and the rechargeability features remain unchanged from the Eargo 5 device and, importantly, Bluetooth features remain absent.
Eargo product overview
Eargo sells four different products—the Eargo Max, launched in 2018, the Eargo Neo HiFi launched in 2020, the Eargo 5 launched in 2021 and Eargo 6 launched in 2022. All Eargo hearing aids are intended to fit mild to moderately-severe high-frequency hearing loss and can be ordered online or by phone.
)
The 2022 Eargo product lineup.
Eargo Max
Eargo Max is the company’s oldest platform and is considered their entry level hearing aid; however, it is also the least expensive aid in their portfolio priced at $1450 for a set of hearing aids. The High Frequency Average (HFA) gain is 26 dB with a 50 dB SPL input. This makes the hearing aid suitable for mild to moderately-severe high-frequency hearing losses. It includes 4 different sound profiles which are essentially volume changes but also includes noise reduction, feedback control and voice indicators for program number notification. Program changes are made by double tapping the ear with a flat, open hand.
Eargo Max does not have an accompanying smart phone app or any available remote control, so this is the only way to change the programs (volume). The pressure change created by moving your hand is sensed by the hearing aids and allows for the program change. There is not a physical button to press on the hearing instruments. Although there is no app and limited control of the device, there is still support which can be found online via a library of video tutorials or you can online chat or call and speak to an Eargo professional to help troubleshoot or setup your devices. Eargo Max has a standard 1-year warranty.
Eargo Neo HiFi
This device, introduced in 2020 also provides HFA gain of 26 dB but the company notes “increased frequency bandwidth” compared to previous generations as well as an improved feedback control and a wind noise algorithm. A step up in technology from the Eargo Max, this product is priced at $1950 for a pair of hearing aids. They again redesigned the ear tips using “tetrapalms” which may help improve comfort and sound quality for the Eargo Neo HiFi.
A smart phone app is available where you can choose listening settings and disable programs and you can also modify bass and treble. However, there is no program change via the app so the ear double tap is still required to change programs. Eargo Neo HiFi has a standard 1-year warranty.
Eargo 5
Eargo 5 was introduced in 2021, and was Eargo’s first product to make available an advanced mobile phone app and Sound Match technology. The Eargo 5 app is also shared with the new Eargo 6 product and works as a remote for changing programs, volume and treble/bass tone controls. You can also increase or decrease the noise filter as well as mute/unmute the hearing aids. For a simple program change, you can tap your ear if you prefer that method. As with their other models, product support is available as long as you own the hearing aid and but with Eargo 5 can be accessed within the mobile app.
Eargo 5 also provided a smaller form factor compared to previous generations, improved ear tips and introduced inductive rechargeability. The gain of the product however, hasn’t changed and remains at 26 dB (HFA 50).
This product is currently priced at $2450 and is standard with a 1-year warranty.
Why you should consider Eargo
- Cost-effective hearing loss solution with a range of models at different price points.
- 45-day trial period with full refund if hearing aids are returned.
- Quick turn-around when ordering the product—receive it within 2-3 days of ordering.
- Cosmetically appealing CIC design; black coloring helps to hide the instrument within the shadows of the ear canal.
- Traditional hearing test not required increasing accessibility to hearing healthcare.
- In-office visits not required for adjustments which can be advantageous to those with transportation or mobility issues and during challenges like we’ve recently seen with the pandemic. However, this is also available from other hearing aid manufacturers.
- Robust online and personalized professional support via phone call, online chat, or remote care.
- Professional support for the life of the hearing aids.
- Rechargeable devices for ease of use and good battery life on a single charge (up to 16 hours). Portable charging case will provide daily recharges for approximately 3-5 days.
- Large print left/right indicators on the hearing aids make it easy to know which device is for which ear.
- Available free, non-working sample aid to test the fit of the instruments.
- Multiple listening programs available, personalization and automatic sound processing available with greater flexibility in the higher price point hearing aids.
Potential negatives of Eargo
- No connectivity/streaming of audio from your devices such as mobile phone, TV, tablet, etc.
- Hearing aids are sold in pairs, so if you have a unilateral loss, this hearing aid may not be ideal.
- Not suitable for more significant hearing loss such as seen with flat hearing losses (hearing loss across frequency range) or more severe to profound hearing losses.
- Directional microphones not available with the product line.
- Not appropriate for young children.
- While the price point is attractive, more sophisticated, professionally fit hearing aids are also available at a similar price or even for less.
- Although you can provide a professional audiological exam to Eargo for program selection of the instruments, fine tuning is much more limited than with traditional hearing aids. The online hearing test (or in situ test via Sound Match in the Eargo 6 and 5) evaluates a narrow range of hearing frequencies and there is no understanding of how well you perceive speech in quiet and in noise, or your loudness tolerance across frequencies.
- Not a custom fit, so the hearing aids may be physically uncomfortable for some people. Eargo notes a higher return rate than that seen with traditional hearing aids and it is likely that the fit plays a factor here. However, a free fit trial with a non-working device is available.
- Although more closed domes are available, the ear tips are not custom and are meant to provide a more “open” fit. Open fits provide more comfort for your own voice but they are also more prone to feedback and low frequency gain will be limited.
- Other than the Eargo 6 and 5 which use inductive charging, properly positioning the older hearing aids in the charger may be problematic for some. However, this is true of other rechargeable hearing aids as well.
- No accessories available to connect to TVs, tablets, etc. Mobile app available for 3 highest tier products but somewhat limited functionality.
- No tinnitus features
- No telecoil availability
Eargo vs traditional hearing aids
While Eargo’s direct-to-consumer model does have the potential to improve access to hearing healthcare, it is possible to find in-person care at a similar price point or, for even less. And for many, depending on the quality of care delivered, in-person care will likely lead to better hearing outcomes.
A professional hearing test is not required to order and fit any Eargo device. Even if one is provided to Eargo, or the online or in-app test is conducted, limited information is utilized for fitting the hearing aid. In other words, only a handful of tones are tested and used to determine the initial settings of the hearing aids.
Compare this with a full spectrum of sound tested by an HCP. The HCP will not only test your response to tones across the frequency range, but also test your speech understanding in quiet and possibly also in noise. In addition, the HCP will examine your ears, discuss your health history, hearing concerns, and lifestyle and listening needs.
All of this information is used to help the HCP guide you to an appropriate amplification choice including the possible use of accessories such as a remote microphone or TV connector. The HCP may even see that you may be a candidate for other technology such as a cochlear implant and/or may refer you to other professionals such as an Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) physician if needed.
The recommended protocol when fitting hearing aids is to test your hearing aids while on your ear and match to a well-researched prescription target. The hearing aids can then be adjusted to match target and can be further programmed over time to maximize both your comfort and hearing performance. Unless you take your Eargo devices into a local audiologist, real-ear measurements and target matching simply isn’t possible. And, even if you do attempt to match targets, the limited tonal controls would likely make precisely matching a prescriptive target impossible.
If we look more closely at the cost of the Eargo 6 device, we see that the current cost is $2950 for a pair. Eargo devices, as the article notes, do not provide many of the standard features of modern digital hearing aids such as Bluetooth connectivity and variable directionality. As such, Eargo devices would be considered more mid-level or entry-level technology.
For example, we recently priced the cost of a pair of rechargeable mid-level hearing aids from a leading manufacturer at $2798. These hearing aids are sold through an HCP, allow for connectivity to both Apple and Android devices, are rechargeable and include a 3-year warranty. Similarly, Costco pricing for their Kirkland signature brand, a high-end level of technology, is $1399 a pair and also includes a charger. Both of these examples show that in-person care can be found at a lower price point while providing a higher level of technology.
So, while there are certainly advantages to the Eargo devices, mainly the ease of ordering the hearing aids and their cosmetic appeal, other more sophisticated options that provide professional in-person support may be preferred especially when cost is no longer a factor. Put another way, in-person care from a professional may be preferred to ensure that you are getting the most from your hearing healthcare investment.
Bottom Line
Eargo hearing aids offer a direct-to-consumer approach to hearing healthcare and may serve as a good entry-point for hearing aids for those with mild to moderately-severe high-frequency hearing loss. They also offer a highly cosmetically appealing hearing aid. However, as with all products, there are pros and cons, and Eargo’s novel delivery model may present additional challenges for some, especially for those with more significant hearing losses or who require wireless connectivity features and/or accessories to accommodate their listening needs.
HearAdvisor partners with HearingTracker to provide objective laboratory performance data. All hearing aids are fitted and performance-tested for mild sloping to moderate hearing loss. All audio samples cutoff above 10kHz. *Specific model tested: Eargo 6.

Eargo 6 Reviews
Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

I like the Eargo 7, haven’t figured everything out yet, however am able to hear and understand more clearly now. Waiting for my check in call to get more answers.

I have had my eargo 6 for a year and a half at this point, and while I like the fit and and the sound quality, I find they just don't last long enough to justify the cost. When I originally purchased them, they would last around 15.5 - 16 hours per charge, as advertised. Within 6 months that changed to roughly 13 hours per charge, which was annoying as the would cut out each evening when I was watch tv, when I really needed them the most. I complained and they sent me a new set, of which I promptly needed to return one of them (left ear), because it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 12 hours. Once I received the 2nd replacement on the left ear I was back to 16 hours, that was about 9 months ago. At this point, neither will hold a charge more than 12 hours, with one down to about 10 hours, so I have to wait until mid day to put them in if I want them to last until I go to bed, a real pain, would not purchase again.

First, the small size is easy to use & the hearing is great! I've worn typical aids that hang on your ears & ones that insert in your ears that block outside sound. You can make settings in your home so don't need to go to a dealer.
Second is the fantastic support from all staff at Eargo. Lots of email & on- line support but if you have a question they are there for you. You have 45 days to return them if you are not satisfied but I knew within 3 days that I would not return them.

Likes: compact size, almost invisible in the ear, responsive customer service, clarity of sound.
Dislikes: occasional acoustic feedback, minimum effect of volume controls & sound tuning, ear canals can feel fatigued when in prolonged use.

Like:
Improve my hearing. Invisible. Comfortable. Charge last all day.
Don’t like:
Too much feedback. Unreliable control of features while in my hears using the iphone app. Manual needs to be improved describing how the devices work and what the app features do.

App phone radio connection to aids is sometimes inconsistent due to interference.
Hearing aids sound to ears is good.

I've had issues with pain and itching, but have found commercial items to deal with it. I'm getting better with my Eargos all the time, and I'm happy with my progress. Your daily emails have also helped me learn how they work. AND - I can now hear the tv without blasting my husband out of the room!

No complaints at this time, still adjusting to wearing the devices. I use them mostly in loud restaurants to communicate with my spouse.
I wear them about 6 hours a day.

Good clarity with most voices , I think I am on the very edge of the hearing range . I do like the fact that wind doesn’t bother them like my BHE . I do get some chirping when our grand father clock chimes . I must remember that no hearing aids are perfect . Amazing product for the size

Good fit, great speech recognition, easy to setup, fantastic battery life. And invisible for me in my ears. Only downsides--can be a bit uncomfortable for all day wear, no blutooth (which I don't know if I miss or not), and still a bit pricey.
But I'm keeping them and I'm happy!

The benefits of the Eargo 6 were immediate: I could hear people, TV and phone calls better, and the hearing aids were virtually invisible. And the Eargo 6 is reasonably priced compared to other similar completely-in-the-ear aids. While some users have reported that the hearing aids itch, I did not experience this. For those reasons, I have chosen to keep them rather than return them at the end of the 45-day trial period. However, the Eargo 6 experience is disappointing in many ways. The restaurant program function does absolutely nothing, so when I'm in a noisy room, I don't get much benefit from the hearing aids unless I spend time manually adjusting the volume and the noise filter. The customer/owner support, which Eargo touts as one of its selling points, is simply awful. I had a good experience with the audiologist who conducted my welcome call, but other than that, I have found the customer service to be abysmal. For example, I have called twice in the last 5 days to ask to have an audiologist (ANY audiologist) call me back and have been assured I would be contacted within 24-48 hours. Yet I have not been called back by anyone. Had I known this a few weeks ago, I might have chosen to return the hearing aids.

Pluses: nearly invisible, comfortable (after getting used to them), they do improve my hearing, very good support articles and videos, convenient
Minuses: voices sound strange (like they’re coming through a pipe), sustained high frequency sounds cause feedback when listening to music, mic caps keep coming off and getting lost (had to order a new set after two weeks—could get expensive)

Buyer beware! Eargo's technology behind the sound amplification may be OK, but the app that controls the devices doesn't work with many smart phones -- yet that fact is not mentioned in any of their advertisements or sales-focused website!
High frequency sound (NOT Bluetooth) is used for communication between the app and the earpieces for all functions -- initial configuration, volume, sound "programs" (which have no apparent effect), etc.
I spent several hours alone and on the phone with a customer representatives trying to get the app to work. Eventually it was revealed that the app doesn't work with many phones!! The suggested workarounds were complete non-starters.
The only good thing I have to say about the company at this point is their 45-day money-back return policy.

Excellent sound enhancement, cellphone app does a good job
Hard to locate pulls for removal but it may take a week or so for me to become more proficient at locating them.

Still working to fine tune. Finally got feedback reduced. Have a problem with device in my ear, itching and disvom

App is not as stable as I expected especially the frustration of not hearing beeps or announcements when I change programs.

I like the choice of program settings & the customization of the Eargos to my particular hearing issues, Still having some trouble adjusting volume by tapping my ear.

As my ears (and brain) adjust to the sounds I haven't heard for awhile, every day just seems to get better and better.
One suggestion on the app under sound tuning for the programs - it would be great to have a bar showing the level of bass/treble/volume plus or minus on these settings.

Extremely comfortable and invisible allowing me to hear much better in a discreet manner.

So far so good. My hearing loss isn't too bad but I can already tell that I don't need people to repeat themselves now. Good communication is my primary goal. Between glasses and masks I appreciate the in-ear design.

My Eargo6 hearing aid is excellent. It works very well, and it is very comfortable. It is very easy to forget that you even have them in! It is virtually invisible and does not interfere with my glasses.
And just as important, the Eargo company is both very responsive and very helpful. I highly recommend both the Eargo company and the Eargo6 equipment.
Both the Eargo company and the Eargo6 get 5 stars from me.

Like:
- no around the ear wires
- self-adjusting with the app
- no changing batteries
Dislike:
- No complaints thus far

The devices are pretty comfortable to wear, especially after I while I don’t notice them. Easy to adjust volume and switch programs.
I am a happy puppy

Best hearing aids I have ever had. Wear them all day with comfort and don't worry about not hearing what's being said whether it's the radio, phone or talking to a customer. I drive truck and this is by far one of the best investments I've done.

Raquel is taking SUPER care of helping me adapt and I like it - she makes me SMILE & think I am SPECIAL -:))))

Love that it is nearly invisible.
Hate that with proper care I can only expect 2 or 3 years use before they must be replaced.

Not sure I'm getting what I want yet. I'll need to adjust settings, I think, to hear better in environments with lots of ambient noise.

I hear things that I haven’t heard in years. The volume settings on my tv and radio are now one third of what they use to be.

I have been wearing the new EARGO-6 hearing aids for the last several weeks. They are, by far, the best hearing aids I have ever worn (and I have been wearing hearing aids for about 20 years). They are very comfortable in the ears and the sound quality is very natural. I particularly like the ability to adjust the volume and the bass/treble using the app on my phone. In addition, being totally within the ear I do not get wind noise associated with behind the ear types and they don't get tangled with my glasses and mask. All in all, I would recommend these hearing aids without hesitation.

Very easy to use. The only difficulty
I've had is with the app but that is apparently due to my phone. These really do work great.

I will have admit,my pair of Eargo6 has greatly changed how I hear my surroundings. The built in programs allow me to hear sounds that seem more natural. You do need to keep them clean from wax buildup in order to maintain the best hearing benefits.

I really like the comfort. hearing quality is excellent. The support has been very helpful.

How can something so tiny make such a positive change in your life ? These little devices are absolutely life changing - virtually invisible in your ear and the service and support from Eargo has been amazing. After having my new Eargo 6's for a week I went to Sunday church and for the first time in about 5 years actually clearly heard every word my pastor had to say. And no one could tell I was wearing top notch state of the art hearing devices. These are really life changing and Eargo really goes out of its way to help you succeed and get the most out of these miracle devices. The staff at Eargo before my purchase and after have been fantastic being knowledgeable - kind - professional and really wanting you to succeed in life changing new hearing. I just cannot more highly recommend any product more.

I have a pair of Eargo 6, i was really happy with them. Turns out that by mistake someone throw away my cleaning tool that came with the kit, i said to my self, don’t worry, you just need to call and order a new one.
Wrong, they don’t carry that little tool…
When i called in to ask, because it wasn’t on the web page, they told me “buy a soft toothbrush and it will work better”. There are some tiny holes that needs to be cleaned and the tool was marvelous to do the job.
Now I don’t have anything proper to do it, and for a devices that cost almost $3000 what i spect is to have full back up from the factory.
I was about to order new petals and mic caps, but i will use the ones that i have until they don’t work anymore and then i will switch to another brand. It’s a shame because the devices work fine if your hearing loss it’s not severe, but what can we expect from a company that doesn’t have the cheapest part of a kit when it comes the moment that you need the expensive ones?
Honestly I don’t recommend this brand, not because the product doesn’t work, it does, but there aren’t any warranty that they will have the parts when you need them.
Update: eargo contacted me and send the cleaning tool at no cost, turns out that it was a misunderstood of the service guy that received my call.

He feels like a lot of first but I do like the options of being able to control the environment

I like the fact that no one knows if I'm wearing them or not. Also love the different programming features, they work as advertised. I'm very pleased with them so far.

They are compact, and State of the art, Have been surprised at the features, the technology, quality and support. Being my first hearing aid, I feel I made the right choice

Too much feedback for my high frequency loss. would be perfect for someone with mild to moderate loss

I'm picking up occasional squawks or squeaks (feedback). I think repositioning the Eargo's makes a differnce. In general, I'm pleased. Thank you.

The fact that batteries are contained, and the Eargo 6 units charge via the main battery modual overnight.

I liked the instructions, they were easy enough to follow. When I put them in with the open petals, it was so amazing.

Still trying the product, have only had them for a couple of days. Making sure they are the right thing for me.

Once you get used to inserting them the process becomes very easy. They are almost invisible when placed properly in your ear. The sound quality is very good in most situations. They are especially easy to use if one needs to use a mask or glasses since there’s nothing sitting on top of your ear. They’re great for use in athletic activities such as tennis baseball or Pickleball. No need to worry about them falling off as one would with the behind the ear types. Eargo you should consider changing the tabs on the outside of your ear to increase volume instead of changing programs. All in all and outstanding technology.

Technology to change programs is very poor. You never know when or how to make it work.
Biggest drawback to ptoduct

Simple to use, great customer service. I'm in my first week. Syncing to your phone makes for easy adjusting. You have the power to customize each device individually. If you need help to hear and are cautious about overspending, concerned about quality, or comfort and fit. This is the product for you. In the past I purchased external hearing aids that picked up more noise than anything else. The Eargo 6 sits comfortably in the ear and helps me to distinguish between conversation and unnecessary chatter. This is a game changer in my work environment. Thank You Eargo 6.

I like being able to hear better in conversations, but some people I still have trouble hearing because they speak so softly. As a beginner I am getting used to how far into the ear canal to put them. For me there is a "sweet spot" to hit for my comfort.

So far. Noises around me are loud & tinny. Chelsea encouraged I would get used to it.

Insufficiently robust. Short warranty shows you have no faith in the durability of your product. Unable to survive in the ear canal environment without failure.

Eargo 6 are fantastic. I hear well from tv to phone to everyday conversation. I even understand people with masks on. And unlike my last hearing aids, the sound levels are nicely separated so everything isn’t on blast. They are comfortable and mostly I forget I have them in, and when I have a question or need help, the support from Eargo has been great. Anyone with mild/mod hearing loss should trial them. Watch the videos, do the welcome call, set up your account and you will have a great experience. Highly recommend.

The best hearing aid I have had. Having an app to fine tune each hearing aid is a huge plus. Ease of maintance is also a plus. The down side, I would say the removal stem, like most in the ear devices will break off sooner or later. I would like the charger to show a light while charging, and the app to show percentage of charge.

I have been very impressed by how much it has improved my hearing. My husband is more impressed.

This is my 3rd set of eargos, I both like them more, for sound quality; and less, for poor customer service and build quality, than my previous sets!
The customer service previously was stellar. This time around in my 1st year Eargo stopped working completely, And then the little string to remove them came off. Customer service replaced the non functioning one. But when I asked how to fix the removal tag I was quickly brushed off and ignored.
Haven't found any better devices for clear hearing though. But I rarely wear them now. Don't know why the removal difficulty makes me nervoys, but it does!

Did my homework. I am 1 of many who have slight hearing issues and need to turn my TV up a notch to hear it. Been trying cheaper options in the last year and had not found happiness. Seen the Eargo6 and looked into it. And placed the order. Upon receiving I followed all the simple steps and had them in my ears with app on phone , taking sound tests to get them set up precisely for me. 20 minutes and I could hear things in a whole new world. I found that, patients in fitting and getting the correct petals was priority, Which also found comfort when wearing for long periods of time. I knew I was missing out, but never really understood until getting this product. Like anything it takes time ( 3-4 weeks) to understand and realize all the changes. But is worth it, and has changed my life... Thank you.

I like that there was nothing what disappointed me. I’m very satisfied about the hearing aids and about the customer support

I very much liked the way the eargos are seated in the ear. Comfortable, barely noticeable, and excellent sound. I also enjoy how easy it is to maintain the eargo 6's charge in the chargebable case. These are exactly what I was hoping for when I first started shopping for hearing aids to assist me in any and all talking situations. I've worked as a musician all my living, trumpet player, and have developed hearing troubles, but the ergo's have helped me to feel comfortable in any social or business setting.

Certainly appreciate that Andrea was friendly, knowledgeable, a great listener and made purchasing EARGO a comfortable step!

It’s nice to hear a conversation again with family and friends. More confidence in my abilities. Thanks everyone for my Eargo’s.

Very comfortable, effective, and easy to manage and maintain. Great online support

PRO: Comfortable and very all day wearable. Don't need to e concerned to be caught outside in a rain storm. Can wear under a helmet.
CON: So far, none. Still under trial.

I like the technology, ease of charging in their case, how comfortable they are in my ears and the awesome customer service! I am still getting used to all the new sounds, but they are certainly helping my hearing and my wife is particularly happy!

Still in 45 day trial, but likes:
- comfort and fit
- Sound quality beyond expectations (best if professional sonograph is provided)
- Rechargeable
- Great video tutorials
- Flexible payment plans
- Intuitive and useful smart phone app
- Impressive customer support

I like the fact that I can hear what I'd been missing for quite a few years. My wife is happy to retire as my hearing aid. Battery life is also good on the hearing aids. After a few days of getting accustom to wearing them (and getting them to charge correctly), I have been wearing them 12-16 hours a day without getting a low battery indicator. The case will charge the hearing aids at least 2 times before it needs to be charged again.
I do get a little feedback from time to time when watching TV or listening to the radio but my hearing is really bad so the amplification set when doing the Sound Match is probably pushing the limits of the device. After several runs through Sound Match the results have improved.
The case can be hard to close sometimes as the Removal Thread Grip catches when putting the cover on the charger causing one or both of the hearing aids not to charge. Once I figured out the issue and carefully installed the case lid, not a problem.
Also, the lid does not always close entirely (a gap on one side or the other) and I have to "jiggle" the lid around to get it to seat without disconnecting the hearing aids from charging.
After one week my only complaint would be charging the hearing aids. Not sure if I just got a fickle case or if the design needs to be addressed.

I have been really impressed with the Eargo 6. I love the fact that they are nearly invisible, very comfortable and I can hear so much better. I also like the different programs and the water resistance. The batteries last all day and they charge wirelessly inside the case, kind of like Apple Air pods. I previously had behind the ear hearing aids and the Eargo 6 works so much better and are more comfortable especially when wearing glasses and/or a mask.

I Feel like there not even there, wow. My dads always had his glasses pull his hearing aids out of his ears. And now the Masks that every one uses today, pulls off hearing aids all the time. Both my father and father in law had this same trouble. Now Eargo's totally in the ear is such a great feature. Thanks:)

I like the water distance aspect and the new / improved app that allows for personal settings for my hearing needs. The customer service has been and continues to be top shelf.

My experience with Eargo started last November and I have nothing but positive input for the company and employees. Everyone is so patient and customer centric, the way a company should be!!
The Eargo 6’s are fantastic!!! They fit so naturally that I forget I have them in. These hearing aids have returned the mid level and high tones to my hearing I’ve lost over the years.
I do not hesitate in recommending your product to anyone that asks. Please keep up the good work and innovation. You have a customer for life here!

Rechargeable, easy to use, right fit and function without audiologist intervention, and equal quality to other more expensive hearing aids requiring audiologist for fitting and calibration.

As a person who has a problem. People wearing masks did not help. So having a set of Eargos made life easier for me.

I don't know. I haven't received them yet. Survey me in a couple of weeks.

These they work really well, are very comfortable, and are pretty much invisible. Mine needed a slight adjustment and Eargo was able to do that quickly.

Be careful. These are the absolute worst hearing aids I have ever tried & even worse than the cheap Chinese “amplifiers” they call hearing aids. My Phonak ones lasted 10 years, but the VA changed companies & the new ones are as bad as these. The feedback is horrendous & I still can’t hear with the volume all the way up. So I’m still deaf & now don’t have any way to talk on the phone or anything. Just complete silence. So depressing.
