About the Miracle Ear Genius

Miracle Ear's new GENIUS product line introduces Binaural Wireless 3.0, which is allegedly 1000x faster than Miracle Ear's previous generation of wireless technology. Binaural Wireless 3.0 enables GENIUS hearing aids to send the complete audio signal from one device to the other. Such technology has been used by other brands (most notably Phonak) in the past, and has also been used in Siemens hearing aids, which are manufactured by the same company as Miracle Ear (Sivantos). In the Siemens world, the technology is known as e2e wireless 3.0, and seems to have similar benefits; hearing aids form a "virtual eight-microphone network" to provide a "heightened sensitivity of the acoustic environment." This technology not available in certain models, such as the GENIUS mini RIC.

Miracle Ear Genius Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

Works good in quiet environment. Pretty well useless for anything else. Wanted to return it but I was too late. Big waste of money

This is my first hand experience dealing with Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear) - Gregg Olsen, Mike Olsen and Amplifon (“Parent Company”) ***I highly encourage anyone reading this review to NOT DO BUSINESS WITH Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear)*** The evidence in this matter reveals the original Purchase Agreement lacks at a minimum, and in pertinent part - the required signature(s) of the customer, required dates, required accept/decline of Supplemental Warranty, and the required signature(s) of Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear) consultant(s)/employee(s). This is not a valid contract. A refund for the defective hearing aids was requested within the 45 day required timeframe (by law), and Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear) refused the return, as well as the refund request. Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear) refused the return within the 45 days and stated that we must keep them for 6 months or more and until such time that the device(s) would likely work properly. We have made every reasonable attempt (in writing and by phone) to resolve this matter directly with Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear), and they simply offered for us to keep the defective hearing aids, sell them on the open market, or "...wait until the health insurance resets and purchase new hearing aids..." from them Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear). Health Services Bay Area, LLC (d.b.a., Miracle-Ear) has acted illegally, unethically, and immorally in this case.

Looking forward to the things missing in my current hearing aids: iPhone automatic connecting for phone calls and rechargeable Li-ion (NOT Z-Power) batteries. Other than that, my current hearing aids, almost three years old, are just fine. Changing batteries can be inconvenient, especially when they beep off in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Hugh B
Problem with ZPower is COST! $20 per battery. Local audiologist told me that they last about eight months. Do the math: $60/year. You can buy one heck of a lot of disposable batteries for $60, especially at Costco or Amazon. Phonak uses Li-ion rechargeables that supposedly last five years before needing replacement at the factory.

Spent more time getting them fixed or replaced than should be necessary.

I started off with a pair of ME-4 model 2275 hearing aids, and had good luck with them. I was eligible from my insurance for a benefit to get new hearing aids, so I ordered a pair of the very best ME-1 Model 5400 hearing aids and have had 1 pair of 5300 hearing aids and 4 pair of 5400 hearing aids and they all have had something wrong with them. The biggest problem with them is the volume keeps shutting down, my provider says that no one else is having problems with this model. I am waiting for my 5 pair of aids, just wanted the best they had but I have got the worst.

My RIC 5300 Genius hearing aids have been in the shop longer than I have been wearing them. The bluetooth technology keeps losing itself and constatntly tries to re-connect (beeping). The treble and bass adjustments do not work at all. The Navigator control only works on half of the programs. My Miracle ear provider has tried to make listening adjustments and even on his business computer they wont program. He sent them in twice and they still did not work and had to be sent back. The last failed incident, my provider said he was sending them back and asking for a new pair be sent to him. MIracle Ear sent back the SAME ones !!! Still the same issues. I brought everything back to my Miracle Ear provider and said either send me new hearing aids or return my money. My Miracle Ear Provider agreed, I know it is not his fault, and he sent them back and requested new ones be sent out. I have only had these for 3 weeks and so far I am not impressed with Miracle Ear customer service. It has been a week so far and I still have dont have them back. Can you imagine if somebody broke the lens out of their glasses or had a broken tooth and they were still waiting over a week to see or get their tooth repaired ?? I would love to experience these hearing aids to do what they are advertised to do. So far, that has not happened.

Overall, I am very happy with my hearing aids. They are very comfortable and my hearing has improved greatly from my previous set. This was my first time with Miracle Ear. For some reason I was expecting less. The service was very professional and the aids seem robust.

My RIC 5300 Genius hearing aids have changed my not understanding conversations to hearing and understanding. Everything is so clear. They are really comfortable and light weight. They saved my marriage.
