Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome. Hearing aids are manufactured with varying levels of quality; some hearing aids are extremely durable, while others suffer frequent breakage. Battery life also varies between models, and manufacturer predictions of battery life are often optimistic. By collecting feedback from consumers, we can get a better idea of real world product durability and battery life... Continue reading

2/22/19 I have had these Oticon units since March 2014. The reliability has been poor. One unit sent back to Oticon during the 3 yr warranty. Volume Program button on Rt ear now stuck in warranty expired . Oticon wants $300 to fix,the button, the first Streamer I had the failed and would only work as a remote. I had to purchase a new one for the same price as repair $200. These aids cost $5600 in 2014 I do have insurance and my cost was under $900 originally. Rather than pay $300 to get the volume button fixed I am eligible with my insurance to get new ones every 4 years. I did extensive research when I purchased these and tried other Brands inc Resound, Unitron , Oticons with Proprietary Software (beware) and also Miracle Ear. Right now I an leaning towards Costco Kirkland Sig 8 are $1600, Bernafon, Phonak and their other Brands are $2500. Same warranty as from the dispenser at less than 1/2 the 2014 price. I work for a German Mfg that also produces hearing aids under a new name, the margins since it is still a "medical device" are outagreous. I know all the dispensers will jump up and down to trash Costco, defeatured, old models etc etc. The fact is you can no longer justify an additional $3000 markup these days. As younger more tech savvy users begin to age they will begin to ask the same questions. Any one that has been in the electronic business for any length of time can tell you that is the future , it has not fully engulfed the Hearing Aid industry just yet but prices can fall by 90% remember $400 VCRs?
Absolutely LOVE the ability to switch between the programs set for me! I have a general setting, a noisy environment conversation setting, and setting specific to my music recording needs! We may add a 4th program soon! Easy to wear, lightweight and quite durable.
I found it very easy to adjust to the devices. I have heard horror stories from my friends and business associates who where nearly unable to adapt to their new devices, which were other brands, however, I had nearly zero adapability issues. These hearing aids rapidly adjust to my needs and environments. i could not be more satisfied and would reccommend them to anyone.
The Alta2 Pro MiniRITE is a continuation of my wearing the Epoq Epoq RITE hearing aids. It improves with binaural hearing, better directional microphones, and improved speech recognition/processing. The MiniRITE only has a volume up/down button, and does not have a T-Coil. However, with a Streamer Pro accessory, you can regain the T-coil feature to use in cinemas. The size of the MiniRITE is significantly smaller than the RITE hearing aids, and is available in many different colors.
