I just got the Ria2 pro miniRITE through the Hear 4 U program so they are about 5 years old or so (not sure) but have been refurbished. I really enjoy them, there is a slight background "white" noise always constant but I have noticed that with all the other hearing aids I have worn. They amplify sound really well and so far I love how they work. I had previously tried some Phonak Trial (demo) aids and the Oticons (even though much older) work WAY better.
These are the only aids I've owned, so it's hard to know what's acceptable. They work, I can hear better with them in, but I can't hear as well as people with good hearing, especially when there's background noise.
The right receiver was replaced under warranty just before warranty expired. I suspect the left one isn't as good as it was.
I had mild hearing loss in right ear due to hunting. I am greatly improved with this device and enjoy tv and conversation across the table with family and friends even in outdoor restaurant which I could not do previously. Thanks

I purchased RIA2 RITE and it was a mistake. First this hearing aid only works best if you have both left and right one. Since it has only ONE volume button.
Meaning = Right one only increase the volume and the left one decrease the volume. So supposedly your left one is not working then boy oh boy you are gone. You can only increase and there is NO WAY to decrease the volume. What were Oticon guys thinking when they made this.
