Phonak Audéo Q Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

They are supposed to be waterproof. They are not sweatproof. I have returned to manufacturer 3 times in 2.5 years directional microphones don't always work. Am considering another brand

I have the Costco Brio version of the hearing aid. I am generally pleased with its performance over the past two years (8/2016 through 8/2018). There is one non-automatic feature of my HA which is called "Stereo Zoom (everything heard by one ear is transmitted to the other ear). This is a marvelous improvement in noisy to very noisy environments making speech recognition perhaps as much as 30% better in restaurants, large group parties and meetings. However, using this manually selected feature uses too much battery power to the extent that batteries which normally last me a week on automatic operation just last a day or two when stereo zoom is selected. I will be looking for new HA's in the next year by August of 2019. I hope by then the stereo zoom feature in Phonak (or a competitor) will be further refined and automatically selected in very noisy environments and will not be the battery hog that stereo zoom is presently!! I also hope to opt for rechargeable batteries that will give me use in all environments on a automatic basis to include TV streaming via Bluetooth directly to my hearing aids. I would hope to get about 14-16 hours per day per charge...

I never have liked these HAs. They are my second pair. After reading postings to this forum, I have slightly modified my opinion. I think the main problem has been the guy that programmed and sold them to me. Since then, I have a different HIS and I think she is more competent and sincere. Recently, I lost one HA and misplaced the other. Was going to have them replaced. Deductible $700 for the both of them. Meanwhile, am trialing Phonak Audeo B-R B90. (much better, especially music) Meanwhile, found the misplaced aid. Decided to replace the other ($350) and have my HIS program it to my most recent audiogram, August 2017. I'm pretty sure there will be an improvement; however, since wearing the B90, I kmay be too spoiled to go back to the Q70s. Continuing to trial the B90 until December 1, then will trial the Unitron rechargeable, since there is no charge or obligation, plus, I think I need to in order to help me decide what to do. So, my review of the Q70s is very negative, but don't know yet if it is fair. I will know after I wear them, reprogrammed.

At the moment I'm wearing Phonak Audeo Q90 since 5 years and now looking to switch to Oticon OPN or similar solution with best fitting to my sky slope loss and possibly direct to iPhone streaming and HA managing solution.

I have a Phonak Cros paired with this unit due to SSD, secondary to AN surgery. The hearing devices work well, and are the most "real" sounding devices I've used thus far.

I actually have the naida Q 90 which are the top of the line but I can only wear them inside watching television or when I'm out in air conditioned environments due to perspiration getting inside the hearing aid and causing them to shut down. I would not recommend these to people that sweat heavily and spend time outdoors!!! My three year warranty is at an end and I can no longer wear them except to watch television and inside where there is air conditioning.

This is my first set of hearing aids. I got one first and wanted to get a second one( a little later) since I liked it and was hoping the second one would held remove my tinnitus a litter better. I have a severe hearing loss and bad tinnitus. The tinnitus masker don't work good-it just adds another noise in my head. and masker is barely noticeable-just a little hissing. I was just hoping it would work better than it does. I spent about 10 years knowing I might need hearing aids but put it off since they cost a lot and I did not want to look old. These are small in size and nobody has noticed I am wearing them yet.I would recommend them to anyone who needs a hearing aids. I have had them about a half a year and almost use to them being a part of life now.

I was very excited about being able to tell what was being said in a crowd when I got my first hearing aid. Now, after learning more about the types, brands, prices, and services offered to hard of hearing patients, I am extremely disappointed that T-Coil was not included in my device! Audio Looping is being provided by more and more venues, but I can't take advantage of it because I do not have a T-Coil!!

I still have very high ratings to Phonak Audeo Q90 312T. I have had no problems with the hearing aid. I hear better now than I did 5 years ago and have lost another 30 db in hearing...down to 120 db loss in left and 105 in right in mid to high frequencies.

The music program is very nice when I play the piano. General speech using the primary program is very good. The best is when I use the ComPilot accessory with my cell phone. I hear my conversations in my hearing aids from my cell phone. And it dampens the outside sounds when I am having the conversation.

Go in thinking the hearing aid WILL be the right thing for you. Be patient, give yourself time to get use to hearing again. Do not feel that not hearing is easier, anything worth doing is hard and it takes time to learn to hear again. You will feel more connected to friends but most importantly FAMILY. Take advantage of everything available to make YOUR life better. Life is too short not to hear your family say "I love you".

Really excellent quality sounding hearing aid. Very small BTE. Biggest drawback is lack of telecoil. With the looping initiative that is spreading, a hearing aid with telecoil is a MUST.

My aids are the first thing I reach for in the morning and the last thing I put away at night. Ironically, one of the "advanced" features has a disadvantage for me personally. It lowers very high frequencies to make speech better to understand. My problem is that I have been a piano technician for many years and this feature works against me when I am trying to tune the high treble notes as playing one string produces several tones. I asked my audiologist to give me a setting that would disable this and just amplify the pitch where it is. So far, it has not worked for me. I think if I could get with him and a piano so I could show him what I need to hear, he might be better at understanding it. However, the warranty period is over and he seems disinterested and seems to have the attitude that I'm just going to have to live with it.

This is one of the best hearing aids I have tried. I decided to keep this one after experiencing a marked improvement in hearing at business meetings. My audiologist had to try a few different tips? before I felt comfortable, but now I hardly notice anything in my ears.

Eccellent product, but the battery lasts scarcely two days..

I'm new to hearing aids. My clinician said he could give me an unbelievable deal on a Phonak Q30. My concern is all the hissing or sssshhhh sounds. I'm concerned because now I'm reading that the Q30 is the bottom of the line and the new technology is far superior. Can the sssshhhh or hissing sound be eliminated or it is because it is a lower level device? Thanks, Brenda

I've used two Phonak Audeo Q90 312 hearing aids for three years to deal with substantial hearing loss starting at 1 khz. They make a dramatic difference in my ability to understand speech, especially in noisy environments, and my ability to enjoy music, live or recorded. I have had some issues: the wires connecting the receiver to the hearing aid body are not sturdy and have broken, requiring repair by my provider, and the battery contacts on one aid are not robust and I've had to do minor tweaks, bending the contacts to provide a reliable connection. But, mostly, they work very well and are a great asset.

I got the Q90 312T hearong aids 2 years ago. Initially they were a big improvement on my previous aids, but over the last year or so have become infuriatingly unreliable. Normally the batteries last 6 or 7 days, but very often the device gives a warning bleep to indicate "low battery" within 2 days, then cuts out altogether. If I then switch off, wait a few moments and switch on again, it works OK. I've had to send one or other back to the makers several times. In noisy situations, they have a habit of switching in or out at random intervals. Would I buy Phonak again? No.
