I had a very pleasant experience today at the hearing and balance center today. First off Tonya, the customer service specialist, was amazing and so easy to work with from scheduling my original appointment until today in the actual office. Her skills are so professional and she makes you feel like you are the only client the center has. There was another very nice lady who checked me and was very helpful as well. My student intern (Maddie? ) was so patient and kind and gave very simple instructions to follow. I didn't know what to expect but bc of the excellent bed side manner I was given, it made my experience painless. I felt very educated about my condition also empowered to learn more about what's going on with me. I would recommend anyone who is in need of this specialty to considered this space!Read more
Excellent Service! I lost my hearing aids on a Tuesday night. I was leaving town that early Friday morning for a week. They tried to get a new pair overnighted but could not. So, they loaned me a pair for the week I was out of town. I switched to the new ones when I got back in town. I could not have asked for more. Great job, H&B of KC!!!Read more

I would recommend Dr. Lake and Hearing and Balance Specialists to anyone encountering hearing issues. Dr. Lake is professional, knowledgeable, and kind. She listened with compassion and understanding. Improving the quality of life is their primary goal. They do not try “to sell” which in itself is impressive. I wish I had visited them sooner. They really are the best!Read more
While testing was thorough, there leaves a lot to be desired. Discussion of what was being done was lacking. Just do as asked and move room to room for and hour or so. Clinical diagnosis was reasonable but not great input as to causes other than some maybes. Treatment was given as the option of visits or video based. Video based is not through insurance though so it’s straight cash. The videos are not great and many others can be found online searching treatment for given diagnosis. Then comes the bill. Didn’t know some hearing test would be billed at over $1,000. After insurance was still near $600. After wishing to discuss about being unhappy with the bill I was told I would receive a call after the person spoke with the Doctor. Never received a call. They tried to charge my credit card for the full amount anyway a couple weeks later. After calling again they acted or have no clue we discussed things in depth just a couple weeks ago. I was then informed they just don’t adjust Billings. Basically leaving it as pay the amount or go to collections. Pricing is out of control and once they get the billable service done there is not really interest in patient satisfaction. Patients beware and ask for pricing up front of your services. However I would imagine you will get an answer like “it will depend on your insurance” so they can still bill whatever and get away with it.Read more
