Associated Audiologists

Linda M. Erickson, Au.D., FAAA, senior audiologist, specializes in diagnosing and treating hearing loss and tinnitus. She was an audiologist with the practice from 1995 through 2004, but most recently has worked as a contract audiologist with the Veteran’s Administration here in Kansas City. Linda currently is pursuing her doctorate of audiology with A.T. Still University. She earned her master of arts degree in audiology from the University of Kansas and her bachelor of science degree in education from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; the Kansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association; and the Kansas City Society of Audiology.

Dana N. Jacobson, Au.D., FAAA, senior audiologist and Overland Park Clinic manager, has been with Associated Audiologists for five years and performed her clinical externship with the practice. She earned her doctorate of audiology degree from the University of Kansas and is active in local and regional professional audiology societies. Dr. Jacobson serves as an ad hoc graduate faculty member at the University of Kansas Medical Center and recently co-authored a book chapter examining deficits in speech understanding. She has participated in several medical mission trips to Antigua, Guatemala and manages the practice’s various philanthropic programs.

Timothy C. Steele, Ph.D., FAAA, president of Associated Audiologists, Inc., has extensive experience in the field of audiology. He is a clinical assistant professor and has an ad hoc graduate faculty appointment at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he has taught audiology coursework and provides clinical instruction. He also provides clinical instruction for audiology programs in the region. He earned his doctorate of philosophy in audiology degree from the University of Kansas. Dr. Steele’s research interests and passion are in the areas of hearing loss rehabilitation and hearing aids.  Clinically, he see patients and provides supervision and guidance for the practices six clinics and 15 audiologists.

Sarah Jo Mediavilla, Au.D., FAAA, has more than 25 years of experience as an audiologist. She specializes in diagnosing hearing loss and hearing aid fitting and verification. She has worked in a number of settings, and spent many years caring for cochlear implant and vestibular patients at Midwest Ear Institute before leaving to spend more time with her family. Prior to joining Associated Audiologists, she was an adjunct lecturer with the University of Kansas. She earned her doctor of audiology degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Stacey M. Baldwin, Au.D., FAAA, senior audiologist and clinical systems manager, has been with Associated Audiologists for nearly a decade. She is a clinical assistant professor and has an ad hoc graduate faculty appointment at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she teaches audiology coursework and provides clinical instruction for students. She has been an active leader in local and regional professional audiology societies and earned her doctorate of audiology degree from the University of Kansas.

Travis B. Hopkins Williams specializes in diagnosing hearing loss and hearing aid fitting and verification. He joined Associated Audiologists after earning his doctorate of audiology degree from Washington University’s St. Louis School of Medicine. He performed his clinical externship at Washington University in St. Louis with the Division of Audiology. His doctoral research project analyzed the impact of directional microphone technology on speech recognition in noise in a BICROS hearing aid. Dr. Hopkins Williams’ personal experience with hearing loss is what inspired him to pursue a career in audiology. He began to lose his hearing in grade school and wore hearing aids, but received a cochlear implant when he was 13 years old. Today, his hearing sensitivity and speech reception are essentially normal.

Danielle Dorner, AuD is a vestibular audiologist who cares for patients experiencing dizziness and/or balance problems. She earned her Doctorate of Audiology degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, and her Bachelor's degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Although she works with all ages, she has an interest in special populations. She is currently employed at Associated Audiologists Inc. located in the Kansas City metro area.
