Widex DREAM Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

I have been wearing the HA's for five years with only only one problem, the mold on one HA became loose and was replaced under warranty. My ability to hear in most environments is good with two exceptions ... noisy restaurants etc and TV. Sound is very natural.

Batteries die with little to no warning, clogs with earwax frequently, poor sound quality with music (organ music during church services become a painful cocophony), prone to interference from aircraft (I'm in the flight path of JBLM and the aids make horrendous noises when the Air Force Jets fly over)

Natural sounding, comfortable, lots of features even at 330 price point. Use these with COM-DEX. I’m not having the connection issues others have with direct to phone HAs. I’m keeping these for another few years until they get that issue sorted!

Got these aids after having Starkey CIC. They äre much more comfortable to wear long periods of time. Very natural hearing. I use the Widex COM-DEX device with them. The new receivers I got recently have made the aids like a good quality headphone! I’m also very happy with my provider Helix.

I will not purchase Widex again. I think their streamer is lacking. The Bluetooth is unsteady and according to my research it is caused by a design flaw in the streamer. The M-dex (which I don't believe is manufactured anymore) is a bit more reliable than the Com-dex. The Com-dex is useless in the real world when you need instant access to volume and program controls.

I am very dependent of my hearingaids! They are the best I had so far in my life . I'm 54 years old and hearing impaired since birth. However, I'd like to have even more power in mya aids if possible but thats hard to achieve without feedback-issue.

My first hearing aids. Helps in quiet environments fantastic. Still have trouble at loud music venues. Batteries last about a week. Battery low warning is a few hours till dead so make sure you have spare batteries with you. If something or someone comes close to your ear ie. a hug, you will experience high pitch feedback. Overall very HAPPY with improved hearing

I have been wearing hearing Aids for almost 30 years and the Widex Dream is the best hearing aid I have ever had. The battery life is generally good, the sound quality is great and when paired with the CROS, this has been a great solution for my single-sided hearing.

I went to Salem Audiology clinic ink in Salem Oregon. I was quite shocked at how friendly, organized, thoughtful, diligent & communicative the staff was. I interacted w/ Scot Frink mainly & he was fantastically knowledgeable about everything. When he asked me if I had questions, there was not one in my mind. I'd gone to a couple other places & they could'nt hold a candle to Salem Audiology. I don't usually complete these survays but in this case I thought it critical. I don't like to complain and won't if I'm asked but, I was so I was proud to complete this one. I can't say enough positive adjectives about Scot & his staff. Thank you SACI Craig G. Nelson, Jr.

I use the Dream 440 ITE combined with the CROS-FS for my deaf ear. The combination is wonderful. Now I can hear people on my right side without turning my head. And the DEX-RC remote is great for volume control although it does it on its own in different environments. I have bilateral Menieres and the only drawback is that on "bad" days when my hearing in my only good ear is greatly reduced, the voice clarity is not there. But it still reduces the level of the continuous Pulsatile Tinnitus which is great. On better days, the Tinnitus is almost completely gone. They have made an improvement in my life. They don't like windy days outside so I do have to turn down the volume with the remote.

I am more comfortable around people because I'm able to hear and participate. I've had no serious problems with my aid but I'm still having difficulty with the cross-over. Doesn't fit as well as the hearing aid.

Just like wearing my eye glasses to improve my eyesight, I greatly value the considerable improvement in my hearing I have enjoyed from the devices I’ve worn for over ten years. It is difficult to adequately express my appreciation for the ability to hear various high-frequency sounds because of my devices. Having worn three different (progressively upgrading) devices and, now, the Widex devices, I couldn't be happier with the quality and reliability of the devices I've had, as well as these most recent devices. As a side note: the TV-Dex (TV-to-device remote hearing) device is disappointing... unreliable.

I was a fool not to have invested in them earlier. I'm in a business where I need to hear everything a person says to me. I live in a wooded area and for 10 years I didn't know I could hear road noise in a distance. I have a Master 2 programmed so when I'm in meetings it points straight ahead so I can hear the speaker very well, better than others who don't have a hearing issue. I still have trouble hearing my wife but I think there maybe another reason for that.

Widex 440 D-FS is a wonderful tech break thru for me. My hearing has been in need of two aids for over 30yrs. This is the first time I can say with joy, I can hear clearly, no wind whistle or feedback! My inner ear is where my major problem is and the Widex Dream 440 is a dream come true for me. At 76yrs old to hear clearly again is truly amazing. I'm so glad I took one more chance at trying for "good hearing". Widex has excellent features for me, reduced my tinnitus level to not even noticeable, that alone is major for me, the level of clear speech is awesome. With 15 different adjustment programs you get all you need at your fingertips. Widex Dream 440 is so comfortable I honestly forget I have hearing aids in my ears. This is major for me as I began with hearing aids, back in the day when you brought them home, wore them a day or two and put them in your dresser drawer, for safe keeping "until you really needed them". I am so pleased to have the opportunity to purchase the state of the art wireless hearing aid to enhance my quality of life. I now want to interact socially and I was beginning to be very hesitant in crowd situations, that fear is gone. I have to admit I cried when I first heard the clarity of speech that was available with these hearing aids. Widex claims to provide "true to life" sound and it is a valid claim. - Original comment has been edited by a Hearing Tracker admin due to at least one policy violation

Nice small hearing aid. A bit on the pricey side wheni bought it new about a year ago (>6k total). The receiver in canal is great because it keeps such a power hearing aid very small, people hardly notice it unlike others I've worn with the standard tubes. On the negative side, the lack of volume control on the hearing aid is a little hard to get used to after a life long experience with that, and you need a small remote to carry around to change this. I would rate its ability to work in loud environments as average. The widex mDex (Bluetooth device) is rather disappointing: its a bit bulky, it cuts out when you turn your head by more than about 30 degrees, only has mono stereo, and it's microphone quality is VERY poor.

I have three settings for my hearing aids. With the comfort setting I do not have to take them out when I mow the lawn, weed eat, or cut firewood. The comfort setting is the lowest and it works very well for the above mentioned tasks. They are so comfortable that I have jumped in a swimming pool with them in, have almost walked into the shower with them, and have worn them to bed more than once. They are easy to clean and replacing any of the parts is simple. When a battery is wearing down there are several warnings of, "low battery" so you have plenty of lead time to replace the battery. And speaking of batteries, they are easy to replace. I am extremely pleased with the Widex Dream 330 Fusion hearing aids and recommend them without reservation.

I would recommend everyone get the testing. Loss happens ever so slightly and not until you find yourself saying "what?" more than any other word do you realize something is not right. The aids are so slim and have such advanced technology that I've completely surprised people when I tell them to hold on a minute while I adjust my "ears".

The quality of the overall audio experience has been very positive. There is no perceptible distortion even in loud environments. In particular I found the Zen and Zen+ functionality to be very good to assist with my Tinnitus. Highly recommended.

Extremely disappointed with these hearing aids. Returned for repair several times. Rust in battery compartment. Squeal in ears. Company will not replace. Paid $5800 for junk. My first set of widex were great. Still functional from 2011. These are poorly manufactured. Still under warranty but never fix the problem. Their rep won't speak with me. Don't buy these.

I purchased my hearing aids from Mike and Jennifer Arndt. They are fantastic people to work with. I will continue to do business with them in the future. With that said, I'm am not so happy with the WIDEX 440. I too have sent mine back for repair just to have them fail again. The crossover fails every day and I get the dreaded message "universal" none stop. I spoke to Mike and Jennifer about the problem. They are working with me to resolve this issue. It might be a programming issue from the manufacturer, at least I hope that is the problem. If not, I have Mike and Jennifer find me hearing aids that work.

The sound is very good but the reliability is questionable.. The right aid seems to have been built to a different tolerance so the battery doesn't fit properly. It's a shame because it also had excellent battery life. In fairness its a big ask for a machine to have 100 percent up time for 5 years! For me I'd recommend having a second pair of working old aids so if you need a repair job you aren't lost without hearing for a week.
