Dr. Danette Baker received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Baker spent the first part of her career in audiology working in the field of Pediatric Audiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) located in Loma Linda, California. When diagnosing hearing loss in children, she utilized a variety of special tests, including Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) and Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs). Dr. Baker also worked with Cochlear Implants while at LLUMC where she served as the Director of the Cochlear Implant program until her departure. After leaving the hospital/clinical setting in 2005, she served as a Dispensing Audiologist in a private practice setting in Rancho Mirage, California. During her time in private practice, Dr. Baker obtained her Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D.) while maintaining a full work schedule. Danette continued to work with Cochlear Implant recipients, diagnosed and treated hearing disorders, and dispensed all levels of hearing aid technologies and assistive listening devices during her time in California. In 2013, Dr. Baker fulfilled a lifelong dream to relocate to New York City. She is currently the dispensing Doctor of Audiology at Start Hear USA located at 351 7th Avenue, Suite 1002 in Manhattan. Dr. Danette Baker remains passionate about the field of Audiology and specializes in providing treatment options that are customized to each individual.
