Starkey Wins 2020 Manufacturing Leadership Award

Transformational, multi-functional initiative earns recognition in Supply Chain category

Eden Prairie, MN, August 20, 2020 – Starkey has been named a 2020 Manufacturing Leadership Award winner for its outstanding achievements in supply chain management. The award, presented by the Manufacturing Leadership Council, recognizes organizations who rethink and reengineer how they source materials, manage suppliers, manufacture products, and deliver to customers. Starkey’s recent supply management transformation project earned this award.

Just over two years ago, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to being a leader in technology and operations, Starkey Vice President of Supply Management Jay Schwartz began the journey of developing a multi-functional supply management organization dedicated to performing best-in-class sourcing and procurement processes that ensure high quality and efficiency.

“The accelerated transformation of the Supply Management team, from a fast follower to an industry leader, is truly remarkable and is helping Starkey change the world, one hearing aid at a time,” said Chief Operations Officer Chris Hillman. “I am so proud of the entire Starkey team for its dedication to continuous improvement. Together, we are serving our customers, and their patients, better than anyone else.”

The Manufacturing Leadership Awards honor manufacturing companies and individual manufacturing leaders that are shaping the future of global manufacturing. Winning projects and individual manufacturing leaders have demonstrated achievement in one of a wide range of categories and are chosen by a panel of expert judges for results that have delivered clear and compelling value, return on investment, and other tangible outcomes.

“Manufacturing has been at Starkey's core for our over 50 years of existence, and we have a talented team who are committed to operational excellence,” said President and CEO Brandon Sawalich. “Starkey continues to be at the leading edge of hearing technology, and our manufacturing and supply chain strategy is a huge component of that. I am proud of the Supply Management team for earning this remarkable recognition.”
