Beltone Imagine Hearing Aid

1st pair I got was defective. The 2nd pair would not hold a charge. Returned all and got my money refunded

it's okay, no real opinion one way or the other.

Since I have not experienced all of the features on  Beltone Imagine yet, I can only comment that so far my experience has been a very favorable one.   I am hearing things that I have not heard for years.  I am still getting used to wearing them, so right now they have been making my ears itchy.  I understand that this feeling will eventually go away.  They are easy to put in the ear. I especially like that they are rechargeable.

They sound like a cheap crappy speaker from the 1950.

I have had them for 2 and a half years, and in that time they have been sent out for replacement and or repair 5 plus times. So many times I don't recall. I really don't know what the issue is. I have 2 pair also, lucky for me i guess because otherwise I would not have any while a pair is out. 

I have gone to miracle Ear and bought from them so I have something reliable.

I have said before to beltone that they should refund or something as these are not worth the 9 grand each pair price.

As we speak here they are not working properly but I am tired of having to travel 30 mins every time they mess up. 

This should be handled at a corporate level and not at the local level as I don't see these getting any better and my warranty will be up at 3 years, which will be March 2024 I believe. Then what buy more???

They never both connect with my phone when I first take them off the charger. If I am on a call my call waiting notification does not work. I cannot lay my phone down and talk through the microphone in the hearing aids, I have to keep it either in my shirt pocket or laying on my chest under the seat belt.

Broad functionality and easy to adjust, plus ongoing no-cost-service support/consultation sessions are helpful.

I like the volume control and the ability to change back ground noise. They are best hearing aids I ever worn. The Beltone service provided by Laurent Printz is also fantastic. Sincerely, George Polosky

Too much echoing. Voices not clear in room with one person talking to another. 

They don’t fit well. Evidently they’re only 2 sizes of cables and neither is long enough. The hearing aids are visible from the front and the cables don’t fit against my head.

The part I never liked was your policy of taking walk-in. Twice I’ve made appointments and had to wait 30 minutes or more for a walk-in to be finished. What the point of making an appointment if some someone without one cuts ahead. Your thinking might be that you already got my money.

they work well when they are in place. they keep falling out put larger tip but still falling out.

I don't like the fit. I wish I had asked for more options.

Way overpriced....Beltone makes the Jabra at less than half the price. Beltone offers a "hearing aid specialist" for continued support but this is NOT and audiologist or ENT and can cause you more problems because Beltone has proprietary software that an audiologist cannot access so you are stuck with the setting Beltones hearing aid salesmen sets. Other brands can be modified by your audiologist to adjust for your individual needs and are cheaper. The software adjustments that come with this product cannot override the salesmen's settings.

Left ear is fine, very comfortable, and stays in place.

Right ear is NOT comfortable, and slips around a lot.

sound is much improved with these, but still tinny at times.  Most astounding is the price!!  $10K for 2 hearing aides?  There is no on line comparison (that I could find) to compare price/quality with competition.  May pursue other manufactures which appear more upfront with pricing/competition.

I have had Beltone hearing aids for many years. I recently purchased the Imagine 17 and am not happy with them. The sound is bad. They were sent back to company to see if there was a problem. I got them back today and nothing has changed. It’s hard to describe but I use the word tinny. My friends say I sound distant when talking on the phone. When streaming from my phone I cannot put the phone in my pocket without it cutting on and off. I was told to hang it around my neck and they wouldn’t do that. Who is going to walk around with phone hanging around your neck??? 

Very unhappy!

Im new to hearing aids so didnt know what to expect. I was fitted with the top of line Evolos. I couldn't stand them, squealing and voice echo was terrible. Saw no benefit. Went to Bell Tone to see what they had to offer. Got Imagine 17. Ouch $$$$ Sound quality is unbelievable. Im hearing things I never heard for last 20 yrs. Only disappointment is they are not hands free calling for Android users. Android users represent 80% of cell phone market. Why give it to Apple? Doesn't mack sense. Local service and support helped me justify the $$.

Since installing iOS 15.3 on my iPhone, my Imagine hearing aids will not connect to my iPhone.  What’s going on?

I got my hearing aids about 3 months ago and I have to say they are comfortable I can hear clear and hear things I haven’t heard for along time I can hear so clear and I like the blue tooth and can control the volume from my phone I can’t imagine not having them now and any problems with them beltone are there to help any issues you may have with my imagine 9 hearing aids all I can say is if you think you need hearing aids give beltone a call for a hearing evaluation and try these fantastic hearing aids you won’t regret it I’m glad I did now I can hear things I couldn’t hear for a long time 

My wife has had these Imagine 17 hearing aids for a couple months and cannot stop them from feedback squealing. Been to the Beltone place of purchase several times but still have the squealing problem. (its a 150 mile round trip to the place of purchase so we can't go often and have to deal with the noise which will eventually drive us crazy!!!!!) Not worth the $7300.00 price tag. Do yourself a favor and purchase another brand!! Update:::: They are set up where pressing the right button raises the volume and the left button lowers the volume, well the right volume up now doesn't work anymore, not surprised.

However, to shorten the story:  After LOTS of work, including, at the referral of the audiologist who sold  these to me, and after having involved a factory rep (who's  now apparently no longer with Beltone), we're getting much closer, with the help of a previously ENT experienced, master's degreed, audiologist.

An infection surely didn't help matters, but my musical challenges remain: I cannot reliably  or accurately hear harmonies, nor assuredly my own voice in a quartet, let alone a choir/chorus.  Yet my tonally astute wife tells me that I'm hitting  my notes on  harmonies I already know (e.g. "muscle  memory").  That's been a result of doing what  the techies call a linear tuning.  Percussive sounds have no squelch (otherwise included  as designed to make  sure  you don't injure  your ear in  loud places) - and thus the notes are "almost" (not entirely,  yet) pure, vs generally slightly discordant as they were before, or very discordant, when we started.

Speech is coming along, after LOTS of work; on a 1-5 scale, it's mostly 4-5 now, where it started at 1 or 2-3, with only infrequently reaching "4".  However, that's achieved by dumping the wind protection  program and substituting "ultra focus" - and restaurant and other noisy settings are still, at best, a "3."

If you follow the linked thread you'll see that this is #6 of the audiologists in this journey, and that there were 6 OTHER brands/models of aids, too.  I've come to believe that the top-end aids are  all sufficient, with the possible  exception of the Sam's, which linear adjustment in music didn't  kill the discordance, and that it's the audiologist which will make  the difference.

So, at the  moment,  it's still far from perfect - and I still cannot reliably hear my own voice when singing.  But they are finally usable, and I believe we'll get to "effective" rather than  merely "usable"...

Update from the original review.  Here's the original:

Early days so far (installed yesterday) but:

The sole reason for my upgrade was to be able to understand my wife.  So far, it's an improvement, but not conclusive, as there are still words or sentences that are not crisp.

As well, despite their having been initially set for only 90% of the indicated (by audiogram) volume level, not only are they painfully loud, but if I have my ear near any flat surface, I get feedback.  (I have the solid nipple type of ear interface; not tulip, not open-frame.)  Turning them down by two clicks' worth cures both of those issues, but then reduces the spoken sounds as well (see above).  Other sounds are crisp and audible where in the past I most likely would not have heard them.

I'm going to be trying (direct comparison in the evaluation period) some Signia (perhaps two, but for sure the 7s; maybe also the 3) aids, as well.  Look for my review/s in a day or two.

The Beltones, after a $1000 trade-in (what happens if I return these?  Do I get my old ones back??), and a $2000 "special discount" and a "free" charger (how does this work if there's no charger???), they were $4990.   The two, after insurance credits, from Signia, will be $3100 or $3500.  If I find the Signias (either one) superior or comparable, these are going back.

But so far it's a notable improvement over my prior aids.

Now to mid-September 2022...

Not so much.  I've lost my acuity for my wife's speech, and have lost my ability to hear pitches accurately.

I'll save you the technical discussion, but the audiologist and I (we, actually, as it's my wife's speech which is so critical) have been hacking away at the problem.  That MAY be resolvable to my return to using the MyPalPro I'd used prior to this set.

But my music is a complete disaster.  The aids do not accurately reproduce the frequencies I should hear, and thus I cannot (also; listening is impaired, leading to...) reproduce a tone accurately.  As a singer, that's simply unacceptable - and it's not me.  That my 'own voice' reproduction is either not there at all or minimally there (compounded by what may be an inaccurate pitch reproduction in my ears) makes my ability to participate in groups or quartets, let alone solos.

After months of beating on this problem, while we've improved matters, neither my wife's speech nor my music in or out (out being a product of faulty input) are even in sight, let alone acceptable.

The convenience of the appointment ,the friendliness of everyone and the whole experience which at my age had never been done was awesome

After about a day or so they always turn off the rear microphones. They always sound like I have ear plugs in my ears. I can hear my self talk and is annoying. I don’t even wear them anymore. Waste of 8k. 

I hear so much better. Very crisp    Easy to charge.  No more batteries    My hearing is so much better no.  

Service had been outstanding

They are so comfortable that sometimes I forget that they are in my ear. I like to take calls using the hearing aids to listen. Also listening to music is very good. 

I was so excited to get these after I tried them on, I felt so blessed.  I have never had anything so wonderful.

I wanted to be able to hear everything.  Not the case.

They work fine for me. I'm hearing good but sometime don't put them on when I am around the house. bad habit.  thanks

I like the hearing aids and the service I am getting.  Top notch!

Comfortable. Clarity. No batteries. ....

So far I like everything about it and I have had no problems.

Don't know enough yet about the Beltone app.

I really dislike the shape of them. They do not sit right on my ears  my glasses do not fit well with them either. I hear good this is not a problem. The hearing aid needs to be able to stay on the ear comfortably. It is not shaped right.  I paid a lot of money for them, I am very unhappy , that I purchased them.  Some times the right one comes off my ear when I bed down to pick something up.

Very hard to get in ears and I am afraid I might lose them. They are better than the old pair I have. 

They help me hear better. The only problem I have been having is that they won't stay connected to my phone. I have to keep turning my phone off in order for them to reconnect again. 

This is my second set of Beltone hearing aids. Very little difference between them.

Mine do nothing but squeal they cut on it off and make a lot of weird the different sounds

I recently upgraded my phone for a Samsung galaxy s10+ to a Samsung galaxy s21 ultra and have not been able to use my hearing aids at all except for being able to turn them up and down on the volume and switch between programs. I am using Hearmax  app on the playstore.  I can't receive calls or even stream audio thru my hearing aids.  I know it is probably a Samsung thing but very frustrating.  Please let me know when the new version is available on the playstore that works with my hearing aids.

Much easier to charge.  Holds charge much longer.  Easy to put on.

They are easier to put I and my hearing is much better.

They don't fit right. Have to keep pushing them in to help me hear better.

I like that it is the latest technology in hearing aids, microphone and receiver in the ear.  Also no batteries, and pairs with my phone.

The best hearing aid I have had.  I occasionally have a problem with the Hear Max app.

I am having trouble getting the volume correct.  There is a lot of feedback noise on my left side.  It is difficult for me to understand people and they can be 4 feet from me.    When we increased the volume, then if I come across a loud unexpected sound...the spike in loudness was unnerving.  I thought this model was suppose to catch this and reduce the volume...not this one.    I have another appointment 4/1 and we hope these issues will be resolved.

Marissa in the Elmira Heights office gave me Wonderful service and kept me hearing the entire time your people were troubleshooting my hearing aides. She is so polite and kind.  Love Beltone and their staff!  You people take great care of your clients. Thank you, thank you.

I get a feed back (squeal) on all 4 settings when I have anything, wall- hand etc., within 1 foot of my head.

I would like to return these aids for a full or even partial refund.

I don't even use them any more. They sit in the recharging case, unused, day after day while I use my old ones for my daily life.

Made a big mistake with this purchase. 

I can understand people much better and clearer

My hearing has improved with these and I like the cell phone pairing. But I think the pairing software needs improvement because I get pairing conflicts between IPhone and IPad. I am also having problems with the rubber tips and the athletic retention clips coming off, sometimes in my ear, and/or getting lost.

They are light weight and easy to sync and/or adjust for use in different sound settings.

I can hear a lot better.  Sometimes there are noises that are annoying, like when my wife is washing dishes. I can hear dishes,  spoons, pots and pans that are really louder than someone talking to me. Most of my problem is understanding some people that talk in that monotone voice. 

The size is larger and are difficult to keep from falling off compared to my previous  Legend17 model 63d

Imagine units are Model RIC style 63 (li-ion) Circuit Imagine 117.

Sometimes my hearing aides work fine and other times I have a problem connecting one or both of them to stay connected on the app.

Like the advantage of being able to charge them overnight and never changing batteries. Dislike the fact that I don’t get the humming sound in both ears when I cup my hand over my ear like I did on my old hearing aids.

Hard to figure out how to use volume buttons. 

Great advice and testing from David in the Shawnee, OK location. I can hear so much better now and love all of the customization settings, depending on the environment. Small and unobtrusive as well. Excellent after sales follow up and advice as well.

The M&RIE receiver technology allows for clarity and speech understanding in noise that is head and shoulders above other similar (BTE) hearing aids. 

Wish I'd have found Beltone years ago before wasting money at other providers.

I was amazed with the quality of Beltone’s superb testing equipment. The best grade Hearing Aides I chose delivers fascinating results. They even downloaded the programming features to my iPhone pro max so I can control all the settings myself. Exceptional service anytime I request it. They are the BEST !! 

Used for 4 hours after receiving it from hearing aid center. Apparently  r hearing aid not working.. Center closed for next 4 days. So....I paid almost $7000.00 for pair. L one seems to work. Will be calling the hearing aid store 1st thing Monday morning. Not a happy customer!!!
