Starkey Announces Genesis AI CIC with 2.4 GHz Wireless Streaming and RIC 312

New Genesis AI CIC with 2.4 GHz wireless streaming is smallest of its kind, and the RIC 312 rounds out flagship family with a disposable 312 battery receiver-in-canal option.

Starkey has launched two new hearing aids to complement its Genesis AI line of products: the Genesis AI CIC (completely-in-canal), which features 2.4 GHz wireless streaming, and the RIC 312, a receiver-in-canal device with all the features of Genesis AI in a disposable 312 battery option.

These new hearing aids add to the company’s flagship Genesis AI product family launched in March, which features an “all-new processor, all-new sound, all-new industrial design, all-new fitting software, and all-new patient experience, [and redefines] the future of hearing health.” According to Starkey, Genesis AI represents the industry’s most advanced processor technology, the longest-lasting rechargeable battery in a RIC (51 hours from a single charge), the smallest rechargeable RIC with a sensor, the best dynamic range, and the smallest custom product.

The Genesis AI line was initially available in various popular styles, ranging from rechargeable RICs and in-the-ear (ITE) aids to invisible-in-canal (IIC) and contralateral routing of signal (CROS) models. The all-new ergonomically designed standard case of Genesis AI meets the battery flexibility desired by providers and patients, now with the introduction of the Genesis RIC 312.

Both the wireless CIC and the RIC 312 boast 25% more battery life than the previous technology. Starkey told HearingTracker that the 312 battery in the new CIC is expected to last up to 7 days with streaming and up to 8 days with no streaming; the RIC 312 battery for up to 5 days with streaming and 6 days with no streaming.

The new Genesis AI 2.4 GHz CIC is said to be the industry’s smallest hearing aid in its category. It is powered by the company’s Neuro Processor and Neuro Sound Technology, featuring increased memory, speed, and overall performance. It builds on the previous-generation Evolv AI CIC which is also a unique hearing aid due to its small size, built-in Bluetooth connectivity, and other features as detailed by HearingTracker's Matthew Allsop in the video below.

In this March 2023 YouTube video, Audiologist Matthew Allsop explains why the Starkey Evolv AI is a truly unique nearly-invisible CIC hearing aid with full wireless functionality via Bluetooth. The Neuro Processor is designed to mimic the function of the central auditory system through its all-new compression system and an onboard Deep Neural Network (DNN) accelerator. It boasts 6 times the transistors and 4 times the speed of the company’s previous generation hearing aids. Edge Mode+, which is Starkey’s second-generation intelligent, on-demand hearing-in-noise feature, is enhanced by DNN and trained on a more diverse database of sounds to help patients hear better in a wide range of listening environments.

Additional enhancements to Genesis AI include both professional and patient updates, including Offline Mode, improved 2-Way Audio, Feedback Canceller updates, and firmware update notifications through the My Starkey app.

Both the new RIC 312 and CIC hearing aid models incorporate Starkey's 3D sensors for health and fitness tracking, offering the most classifications within the activity tracker system with the addition of indoor biking, walking, running and aerobics.

Starkey Genesis Ai Cic Wireless Pair

Starkey Genesis AI CIC follows on the heels of the full featured Evolv AI CIC.

“At Starkey, we are continuing to push the edge of what is possible,” said Starkey President and CEO Brandon Sawalich in a press statement. “Thanks to unprecedented sound quality in noise and in quiet, more first-fit success and satisfaction, and a patient experience that goes far beyond better hearing, Genesis AI is the hearing technology the industry and its patients deserve.”

The company states that with new enhancements to Genesis AI on the heels of the first longitudinal study to reveal that hearing aids can reduce cognitive decline in older adults at a higher risk, the time has never been better to offer hearing technology that encourages better social, cognitive, and physical health. “Genesis AI was engineered from the ground up knowing that hearing care is brain care™,” says Starkey.
