Go Hearing Go Ultra vs. Lexie Powered by Bose

The Go Ultra is an affordable, rechargeable OTC hearing aid that offers Bluetooth streaming and hands-free calling, making it a convenient option for users with mild-to-moderate hearing loss. While it is easy to use and comfortable, its sound performance, particularly in speech clarity, is underwhelming compared to other devices in the same price range.

This rechargeable device offers iPhone and Android call streaming, a new recharging case, and an in-app hearing test for personalized sound customization.

GoHearing Ultra achieved a SoundScore of 2.2/5 and a SoundGrade of C in HearAdvisor lab testing. It ranked #49 of 63 OTC Hearing Aid devices tested. The OTC Hearing Aid category average SoundScore was 3.49/5.

Lexie B2 Plus achieved a SoundScore of 4.5/5 and a SoundGrade of A in HearAdvisor lab testing. It ranked #4 of 63 OTC Hearing Aid devices tested. The OTC Hearing Aid category average SoundScore was 3.49/5.

The build quality of GoUltra is definitely below that of prescription hearing aids, though it seems better than some lower cost OTC products I have tested. It also comes with a charging case that seems very robust and should keep it safe when not in use.

Lexie claims all of their products have an IP rating of 67 which is near the maximal egress protection for hearing aids. Beyond this, I found B2 well built with a good button click feel and robust portable charging case.

I was impressed that GoUltra offers up to 20 hours of battery life per charge (less with streaming). It also charges in around 2 hours making its overall rechargeable offering respectable given its lower cost.

Lexie B2 has a reported battery life of 18 hours so it should last all-day for most people. It takes only 3 hours to recharge in its case which also doubles as a portable charger thanks to the internal power-bank.

GoUltra lets you stream Bluetooth and take hands-free calls on both iOS and Android. While the audio quality isn't top-notch, it's a nice feature to have, especially for such a budget-friendly hearing aid.

B2 does offer audio streaming though it is unfortunately limited to iOS devices. I found B2’s streamed audio quality mediocre but it is a useful feature to have for those of use using Apple products.

The phone app is one of my favorite features of B2. It is simple and visually pleasing while offering excellent personalization. Lexie has recently added an in-app hearing test making it even better.

I found GoUltra moderately comfortable as the slimtubes are less flexible than receiver wires and the body is larger than most modern behind-the-ear models. This will depend largely on your head and ears, but they are not the most comfortable devices on the market.

B2 is a rather sleek receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aid. I found its comfort similar to that of prescription hearing aids and experienced no issues wearing it long-term (even with glasses).

GoUltra are not as sleek or modern as many of the products available today. However, this was likely a necessary tradeoff to keep costs down while offering features like audio streaming.

Lexie B2 offers a sleek design similar to modern prescription hearing aids from major manufacturers. One potential downside is that it is only available in Gray, with no other color options.

GoHearing Ultra has no value rating available yet.

Lexie B2 Plus has a value score of 4.2/5 based on lab performance and public display price.

I found GoHearing Ultra easy to use with its larger buttons, but you have to adjust each device independently, which can be a bit of a hassle.

I had no issues adjusting B2 with the app or rocker switch. I found the physical buttons sufficiently large and tactile offering a good click feel when depressed.

I was disappointed that GoHearing doesn't offer better remote audiologic care, you are limited to phone and email support from their product experts. GoUltra are relatively easy to setup but guidance from licensed professionals is always good, especially for those new to hearing aids.

One downside to Lexie B2 is that you are limited to phone or email based technical support. Fortunately, B2 and their phone app are fairly user-friendly and you will likely not need regular assistance.
