Nuance Audio Hearing Glasses Showcased by EssilorLuxottica at CES 2024
Nuance Audio seeks to break barriers with fashionable glasses designed to redefine hearing amplificationEssilorLuxottica is making its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12, 2024 with its Nuance Audio glasses—marking its bold move into hearing solutions which was detailed in an August 2023 preview by HearingTracker Founder and Audiology Abram Bailey and a video by Audiologist and London-based practice co-owner Matthew Allsop (see below). The product is slated for launch in North America in the second half of the year.
As a prominent designer, manufacturer, and global distributor of high-quality eyecare and eyewear products, EssilorLuxottica is the parent company of renowned brands such as Ray-Ban, Oakley, Oliver Peoples, Sunglass Hut, and LensCrafters. Nearly 50 years ago, EssilorLuxottica helped revolutionize the perception of prescription glasses, transforming them from a necessary medical device to an iconic fashion accessory.
Since then, the company has reimagined what a pair of glasses can do for the person who wears them. Will they succeed in changing how consumers view hearing amplification and hearing aids? See Audiologist Matthew Allsop's take on this question in the video below.
“At CES, we will take our place among the world’s leading innovators with a product, Nuance Audio, that has the potential to improve quality of life for over a billion people, ” said EssilorLuxottica Chairman and CEO Francesco Milleri in a press statement.
Visitors to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas can explore EssilorLuxottica's booth (#8725) in the North Hall, where the company has unveiled a prototype for Nuance Audio’s advanced hearing technology. Designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss, these aesthetically pleasing glasses are targeting an underserved market similar to the challenges faced by vision care decades ago. Nuance Audio addresses the reluctance of consumers to adopt traditional hearing aids due to visibility, discomfort, and pricing concerns.
The EssilorLuxottica booth is also showcasing Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, featuring the iconic Ray-Ban frames with integrated cameras, open-ear audio, AI-powered solutions, and hands-free livestreaming and call capabilities. Additionally, visitors can explore the Group's new HELIX division, presenting Vision(X), an intelligent and interconnected platform poised to modernize eyecare practices.
