Launched in 2025, Jet PX is a new essential-level hearing aid line from Oticon, one of the world's largest hearing aid manufacturers. Oticon Jet PX brings artificial intelligence (AI) and deep neural network (DNN) processing—previously reserved for premium models—into a more accessible price range. Built on the same Polaris™ platform that powers Oticon Real, Jet PX is designed for adults with mild-to-severe hearing loss who want modern sound processing, rechargeability, and direct streaming without the premium price tag.

Jet PX 1 stands out as one of the first economy hearing aid families from a major manufacturer to feature embedded DNN technology. That means even value-conscious users can benefit from AI processing trained on over 12 million real-world sound environments, which enhances speech clarity and comfort in noisy environments.

Since Jet PX was launched in May 2025, we don't have sufficient data in our provider database to provide a reliable price estimate. However, it appears the Jet PX prices range from approximately $2,400 to $4,200 per set, depending on the chosen style and technology level.

The HearAdvisor lab and HearingTracker have not yet had an opportunity to test and try out this hearing aid. Although we don't yet know how exactly Jet PX will perform, we think its test results should be quite similar to Oticon Real, which was impressive and at this writing still ranks as the 8th best prescription hearing aid on the HearAdvisor Leaderboard and earned an "A" SoundScore (and 2023 Expert Choice Award) from the lab.

  • No custom in-ear style hearing aid options (you'll need to turn to the Oticon Own family for these)

Oticon is the flagship brand of Demant A/S, a Danish company that is also the parent group for Bernafon (sold primarily in the US to the managed care market) and Philips (available at Costco) hearing aid brands. Demant also produces some of the world's best audiologic test equipment (e.g., Interacoustics, Maico, GSI, Audioscan) and owns about 4,500 retail hearing care offices worldwide, mostly operating under the HearingLife (US and Canada) and Audika (EU) brands. With world headquarters located near Copenhagen and US headquarters in Somerset, New Jersey, Oticon has been a leader in innovation, placing particular emphasis on a holistic (BrainHearing) approach to hearing solutions. The company has also been a pioneer in the AI-driven hearing aid movement.

Who is Oticon Jet PX for?

Jet PX occupies the "Everyday Essential" tier in Oticon’s BrainHearing™ product portfolio—just below Oticon Real and the company's flagship hearing aid, Oticon Intent, but a step above its legacy models. Jet PX is squarely aimed at cost-conscious users who still want meaningful features like AI-driven speech processing, Bluetooth audio streaming and connectivity, and app-based controls, in both disposable and rechargeable models.

While premium Oticon models (like Intent and Real) offer advanced directional microphones and sensor-driven environmental awareness, Jet PX focuses on delivering dependable, natural-sounding performance at a lower price point.

Jet PX comes in five colors, two tech levels, and in two styles: miniBTE (the three hearing aids on the left) featuring a single push-button, and miniRITE with a double push-button.

Distinguishing features of the Oticon Jet PX Receiver-In-the-Ear (RITE) and Behind-the-Ear (BTE) models.

Although the "T" mark on a hearing aid model usually denotes a "Telecoil," all four of these models (including the rechargeables) have telecoils.

Oticon uses "RITE" to denote Receiver-In-The-Ear, while other manufacturers may refer to this style of hearing aid as "Receiver-In-Canal" (RIC). However, RITE and RIC are the same thing; a hearing aid located behind your ear and connected via a very thin wire to a small speaker (receiver) that sits in your ear canal. Traditional "Behind-the-ear" (BTE) hearing aids, as their name implies, also sit behind your ear. But unlike RICs, that transfer the sound electronically to the receiver, BTEs use air conduction through a small tube connected to an earmold. The miniRITEs and miniBTEs are both small and effective. The miniBTEs are often prescribed for people with greater levels of hearing loss who require more power, but can also be advantageous for individuals with other special needs (excessive earwax, etc.)

Advanced Technology in an Essential Package

Let's take a more in-depth look at Oticon Jet PX technology and features.

Deep Neural Network (DNN) Processing

The standout feature of Oticon Jet PX 1 is its integration of an embedded Deep Neural Network, or DNN. This AI engine is trained on 12 million real-life sound environments to better identify and balance the elements of a sound scene, such as speech, noise, and environmental ambiance. Instead of applying static gain rules, the DNN processes sound in a way that mimics how the human brain naturally prioritizes and interprets audio cues. The result is clearer speech and a more pleasant listening experience, even in noisy settings like restaurants or social gatherings. More advanced DNN processing is available on Jet PX 1, the more advanced of the two tech levels.

Gen-2 OpenSound Navigator

OpenSound Navigator is Oticon’s proprietary sound management system, and the slightly older second-generation version, included in the Jet PX, helps wearers maintain 360-degree access to important sounds (Oticon Intent uses a Gen-3 system). Rather than relying solely on directional microphones to focus on what's in front of the user, OpenSound Navigator dynamically balances multiple sound sources. This approach preserves environmental awareness while still cleaning up distracting noise. In practical terms, it means users can follow conversations even when multiple people are speaking or when background sounds are constantly shifting. Jet PX uses a slightly older form of OpenSound Navigator, which can be found in it third generation in Oticon Intent.

BrainHearing Technology

Jet PX leverages Oticon's BrainHearing philosophy, which centers on supporting the brain’s ability to make sense of sound—rather than merely amplifying it. By delivering sound in a way that preserves contrast, clarity, and balance, Jet PX helps reduce listening fatigue and makes it easier for the brain to perform its natural processing tasks. For users, this translates into better speech understanding with less effort, particularly in challenging environments like open offices or outdoor spaces.

Streaming and Connectivity

Oticon Jet PX is fully compatible with both Apple and select Android devices (see the Oticon compatibility page for more details). Thanks to support for Bluetooth Low Energy and the ASHA protocol, users can stream audio directly from their smartphones, tablets, or computers without needing additional accessories. On Apple devices, hands-free calling is also supported. This level of wireless convenience ensures users stay connected to phone calls, music, and other media wherever they go. Jet PX also pairs with Oticon’s accessory suite for even more connectivity options, including remote microphones and TV adapters.

Oticon Companion App

The Oticon Companion app enhances user control and customization. Through the app, wearers can adjust volume, change programs, and even tailor tinnitus support sounds to their liking. It also features a helpful “Find My Hearing Aids” function and allows remote counseling with a hearing care provider using Oticon’s RemoteCare system. This makes it easy for users to manage their hearing aids discreetly and efficiently without visiting a clinic.

Battery and Charging Options

Jet PX offers both rechargeable and traditional battery-powered models. The rechargeable versions use lithium-ion batteries that provide up to 24 hours of use on a full charge. Charging is quick and easy, especially with the optional Oticon SmartCharger, which doubles as a portable charging case with a built-in power bank. For those who prefer disposable batteries, the 312 zinc-air models offer a reliable 50–60 hours of battery life depending on usage and streaming habits. Having both options allows users to choose a solution that best fits their lifestyle.

Jet PX offers two choices of chargers: a portable charger that carries up to 3 extra charges and a desktop charger.
