Cybersecurity Hacking Data Breach

In an update to HearingTracker, WS Audiology (WSA) reports that, as of November 4, 2026, the latest version of the Widex MOMENT app is available in the app stores, and its core functionality has been restored. Additionally, hearing care professionals can now fit all Widex hearing aids as usual.

This follows last week’s cybersecurity incident which was reported by HearingTracker on Friday, October 30.

In today’s update, the company says it proactively took some systems offline as a precaution while investigating and working to restore services safely.

According to WSA today:

What happened: We responded to a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain IT systems. As a precaution, we proactively took some systems offline while our teams investigated and worked to restore services safely. This affected some of our applications, including the Widex Moment application. Throughout, your Widex hearing aids continued to work and were not affected. We restored our systems and applications in a phased and prioritized way, and released them only after thorough testing, which is why full restoration took the time it did.

What is still to come: A further update for Android location-based services and Find My Hearing Aids is planned for 16 November 2026. WSA will provide updates as soon as we have news on these features.

For wearers: Update the Widex Moment application to the latest version. If automatic updates are enabled, this will happen on its own. If you still experience issues after updating, please contact the local Customer Service team; they are ready to help. Or, please reach out to your Hearing Care Professional.

For hearing care professionals: Widex Compass Cloud is available again, and all Widex hearing aids can be fitted as usual. If your patients ask about the application: the latest version of the Widex Moment application is available and core functionality has been restored. A further update for Android location-based services and Find My Hearing Aids is planned for 16 November 2026.

Thank you for supporting your patients through this period. For any support, please contact your usual Widex representative or write to the local Customer Service team.
