Audiologist and Epidemiologist

Danielle S. Powell is an Audiologist and Epidemiologist, currently serving as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has expertise in the connection between hearing loss and late-life mental health for older adults, including hearing loss and depression. Her current work focuses on the effect of hearing loss and dementia on health services utilization and caregiving. Her research goal is to bridge in the professional divide between hearing health care, gerontology, and public health. Dr. Powell received her AuD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her PhD in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
