The Signia Insio Integrated Xperience (IX) family now offers a full range of custom in-ear styles that are uniquely tailored for your individual ear canals. In December 2024, Signia introduced the Insio IX invisible-in-canal (IIC) and completely-in-canal (CIC) to the IX platform, which are the two hearing aids shown above left. More recently, in August 2025, the company expanded its custom product line with the in-the-canal (ITC) and in-the-ear (ITE) styles, as shown above right. All of these hearing aids use replaceable batteries (please see the bottom of this page for Signia in-ear rechargeable options).

The Signia Insio IX family includes (l to r) invisible-in-canal (IIC), completely-in-canal (CIC), in-the-canal (ITC), and in-the-ear (ITE) styles.

Below, we outline the key benefits and limitations of these hearing aids.

Signia IX Insio Custom IIC and CIC hearing aids

Signia CIC and IIC models are designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss who desire discreet and effective hearing solutions. These hearing aids use size 10 replaceable batteries, which typically last 4-5 days.

Key features include:

  • Tiny size for near-invisible cosmetics: The Insio IX models are Signia’s smallest custom hearing aids, offering a snug and comfortable fit.
  • Binaural OneMic Directionality 2.0: This unique feature for IICs and CICs—which are too small to carry multiple microphones—focuses on speech based on environmental data from both ears—making them the only IIC/CICs to have directional microphone technology.
  • Customization: Available in three faceplate colors: mocha, black, and deep brown.
  • App controls: Due to size constraints, these styles do not have onboard buttons, but instead have limited controls for volume, programs, etc., via the Signia app.
  • Battery: Size 10 zinc-air, non-rechargeable.
  • Water Resistance: Resistant to water, sweat, moisture, and dust, but not IP rated.

Insio IX CIC and IIC models offer a combination of discretion, advanced technology, and customized fit, making them suitable for those seeking high-performance hearing aids in a nearly invisible package.

However, be aware that you may be missing critical features like wireless audio streaming, as found in the Starkey Edge AI CICs, and they don't have Signia's impressive RealTime Conversation Enhancement technology.

Additionally, as is the case with most tiny, advanced IIC and CIC hearing aids on the market, you'll generally pay more for these hearing aids, with prices usually ranging from $3,200 to over $6,000 per pair, depending on the technology level. Due to their size and deeper canal fittings, these styles of hearing aids are also typically more susceptible to breakage and require more frequent maintenance, regardless of the brand. Although they're well made, Insio hearing aids are not Ingress Protection (IP) rated, so you'll need to be careful with them around moisture and dirt.

Signia Insio IX ITC and ITE custom hearing aids

The Signia Insio IX ITC and ITE hearing aids combine a discreet, custom-molded fit with the full power of Signia’s advanced IX platform. Intended for people with mild to severe hearing loss, these aids are built with dual microphones and split processing technology to deliver superior speech-in-noise performance. These hearing aids use size 312 batteries that typically last for about a week before replacement.

  • RealTime Conversation Enhancement (RTCE) technology. A unique feature from Signia that tracks speakers and enhances voices in multiple conversation partners within dynamic listening environments.
  • Customizable onboard and app controls. Your hearing provider can work with you to select the most useful programs and controls available via the buttons on the faceplate, as well as via the Signia app.
  • Dual-microphone option. Insio IX ITCs and ITEs can be made with directional microphones that allow you to hear even better in noise.
  • Telecoil option. T-coils provide access to induction loop systems in venues that offer this type of broadcast technology.
  • Customization: Available in six colors: black, dark brown, brown, mocha, tan, and beige.
  • CROS compatibility. Can be adapted for those with unilateral hearing loss (single-sided deafness) via CROS or BiCROS systems.
  • Battery: Size 312 zinc-air, non-rechargeable.
  • Water Resistance: Resistant to water, sweat, moisture, and dust, but not IP rated.

These custom in-the-ear devices also offer a wide range of personalization options, making the Insio IX a powerful choice for those who want comfort, discretion, and next-generation hearing aid performance. By actively monitoring the sound environment and enhancing multiple conversation partners in real time, Insio IX helps wearers stay connected, confident, and engaged—even in complex or noisy listening situations.

However, they do not offer Bluetooth audio streaming. As with their IIC and CIC counterparts, you can expect to pay a similar price ($3,200-$6,000/pair) for these small, in-ear, custom-made hearing aids.

Alternative Rechargeable Signia In-Ear Models to Consider

In addition to Insio IX, Signia offers three other popular in-ear rechargeable hearing aid models. Please click on the links to learn more about these devices:

  • Insio Charge&Go AX are rechargeable custom-fit ITC and ITE hearing aids that use previous-gen Augmented Xperience (AX) hearing technology that, like IX, separates speech from background noise, except it uses slightly fewer sound processing streams. However, as this page was being updated, Signia is now rolling out its new Insio Charge&Go IX rechargeable CIC, and it's a fair assumption that the ITC and ITE versions will probably follow.
  • Signia Active Pro IX is a unique earbud-like hearing aid that incorporates the IX processing technology and looks more like a high-tech consumer audio device than a hearing aid. With its slightly larger and more visible earbud design, the Active Pro IX is both rechargeable and offers Bluetooth audio streaming for iOS and Android devices. Like Silk IX below, it is an "instant-fit" (non-custom) device, which is unique for a prescription hearing aid; it doesn't require an ear impression and isn't custom-fit for your unique ear canals—meaning you may be able to walk out of the audiology office with them right away.
  • Signia Silk Charge&Go IX is the only instant-fit rechargeable Completely-in-Canal (CIC) hearing aid offered by one of the global hearing aid manufacturers—a unique and discreet hearing device with a flexible ready-to-wear silicon click sleeve.
