Injoy Hearing Review: Online Hearing Aids from All Global Brands

If you’re shopping for hearing aids, you may have noticed that you no longer need to visit a local clinic to receive professional hearing care. Remote hearing care is an alternative to traditional, in-person care. Services like InJoy Hearing allow you to purchase hearing aids online while receiving support from licensed hearing care professionals through video appointments and remote support.

In my work as an audiologist, I’ve seen patients succeed with remote care—but it’s not for everyone. For some people, remote care is a convenient and effective option. For others, an in-person clinic may provide a better experience.

But before you pull the trigger, here’s what you should know before deciding whether Injoy is right for you.

What is InJoy Hearing Care?

InJoy was started in early 2021 and is based in Kansas City. It offers online purchases from the leading producers of prescription hearing aids, with remote programming and follow-up care provided by licensed audiologists and hearing aid specialists. As any experienced hearing aid user will attest, hearing care is more than just a device. InJoy not only offers hearing devices but also professional support that accompanies them.

Hearing care simply takes a different form here: instead of visiting a brick-and-mortar clinic for appointments, you’ll meet with your hearing care provider virtually via video calls from home. Your provider can program your hearing aids, make adjustments, and answer questions remotely.

Who is most likely to benefit?

Remote hearing care with InJoy can work especially well for people who:

Have worn hearing aids before and are ready to upgrade
Are familiar with using a Smartphone and mobile apps
Are comfortable participating in video appointments using Zoom
Value the convenience of receiving care from home

If you’ve successfully worn hearing aids in the past, you’re likely already familiar with inserting the devices, charging them, using a smartphone app, and knowing what sounds “normal.” That experience often makes the transition to remote care much easier. Remote care may offer a convenient way to continue receiving professional support without traveling to a clinic. Patients who live in rural or remote areas appreciate the ability to schedule appointments online from home rather than drive long distances to visit a clinic in person.

Who may benefit more from in-person care?

Remote hearing care isn’t the best fit for everyone. Just like some people prefer online banking while others do their banking in person, neither approach is right for everyone and every situation. While not a perfect analogy, it all depends on your needs and comfort level.

You may want to consider seeing a hearing care professional in person if you:

Are trying hearing aids for the first time
Have more than a moderate hearing loss
Have significant differences between your ears (asymmetrical hearing loss)
Have a history of ear surgery or unusually narrow ear canals
Prefer hands-on guidance throughout the fitting process
Aren’t comfortable using Smartphone apps or video technology
Engage in activities that might benefit from more individualized care (musicians, audiophiles, birdwatchers, etc.)

An in-person appointment also allows your provider to perform services such as inspecting the ear canal, taking real-ear measurements, verifying the physical fit of your hearing aids, providing custom earmolds or suggesting specialized programs, and making adjustments while you’re in the office. Many people—especially first-time hearing aid users—find that this additional level of support makes the adjustment process easier.

How does the process work?

To get started, you’ll need a hearing test (audiogram) completed within the past 6 months, so your hearing aids can be programmed appropriately.

We also recommend researching the devices and their ratings on independent sites such as HearAdvisor and HearingTracker.

Once you purchase your hearing aids, they will be programmed according to your audiogram and mailed to you.

When your hearing aids arrive, you’ll schedule an initial setup appointment with your provider. After that, you can continue receiving remote adjustments as needed.

What does this mean? Visiting a local clinic in your area will typically mean that you’ll select from one of several hearing aid brands, with one or two usually being favored. InJoy offers something for everyone, and whether you’re gung-ho for Widex or you’ve been a lifelong Oticon wearer, you’ll get what you’re looking for.

As an audiologist, I know that there is no one “best” hearing aid for everyone. Each person is individual and having the full range of brands available is a big plus.

How much does Injoy cost?

At this writing, Injoy lists its single-device hearing aids from about $625 to $1,749, so the price for a pair will be about $1,250 to $3,500. The company’s website currently lists its “most popular hearing aids” as the Phonak Audéo Infinio Ultra Sphere I90 ($3,498/pair), Starkey Omega AI mRIC 24 ($3,248), and Starkey Edge AI mRIC 24 ($2,148). Lower-cost hearing aids include the Starkey G Series AI 10 RIC R ($1,150/pair), Phonak Audéo Lumity L30-R ($1,798), and Signia Pure Charge&Go BCT 3IX and Widex SmartRIC 220 ($1,980). Some online hearing aid retailer/providers offer separate, tiered “care packages” that make you pay for extra services. With Injoy, all customers have access to the same professional care for programming and consultation without extra cost. Customers also receive a cleaning kit with basic maintenance tools and device-specific instructions, along with ongoing support for obtaining replacement parts and accessories as needed.

This is important because hearing aids can (and do) malfunction and break down with continuous use, which usually involves exposure to earwax, moisture, and wear and tear. Hearing aid components like receivers, microphones, and rechargeable batteries can degrade or fail over time. That means a good online provider must have a process for troubleshooting and providing repairs or replacement parts.

Injoy offers financing through Shop Pay Installments, a service from Shopify in partnership with Affirm and its lending partners. This allows you to spread your payments, with terms and interest rates that depend on your credit eligibility and purchase amount. A down payment is usually required. For any hearing aid financing, we always recommend that you read and understand the payment requirements, as they can prove expensive if you don’t pay off the balance in time or fulfill other payment obligations. Injoy also accepts HSA and FSA funds for eligible purchases.

What are Injoy customers saying?

In general, user reviews from the HearingTracker Hearing Aid Forum are positive, although there are a few complaints about Injoy’s responsiveness when something goes wrong.

Several HearingTracker Forum members have reported good experiences with the company, praising its hearing aid programming and online support. For example, in May 2025, rt279 reported purchasing Starkey hearing aids from a clinic and Phonak hearing aids from Injoy:

“My local audiologist tuned my Starkeys in person. Injoy tuned my Phonaks remotely. Both did a great job. I’ve only needed a couple of minor adjustments since the initial setup. Just give the person tuning them the feedback to meet your needs!”

However, in February 2026, Forum participant HokieSL complained about the length of time encountered after returning the hearing aids for repair:

“The customer service while at first glance seems fine. When there is a problem their customer service is not helpful at all. Had my defective hearing aids for 2 days returned them and have been without for two weeks.”

At this writing, Injoy has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, although Injoy’s one BBB review noted difficulty contacting the company and delays in receiving a part needed to make the hearing aids work. From our experience, this isn’t a large enough sample to make a meaningful determination about its service.

NiceJob, which aggregates Injoy reviews (mainly from Google), shows as of July 2026 an overall 4.8/5 rating from 225 customers, with individual platform ratings of 4.8 on Google and 4.9 through NiceJob.

Bottom line

Remote hearing care is an option that may appeal to people who value convenience, a lower price tag, and feel comfortable using technology. For experienced hearing aid users, services like InJoy can provide access to licensed hearing care professionals without requiring regular trips to a clinic—and often at a lower cost.

On the other hand, if you’re purchasing hearing aids for the first time or have a more complex hearing loss or ear history, an in-person provider may offer additional testing and hands-on support that can make the fitting process smoother.

Alternatives to Injoy

While Injoy appears to offer convenience and online professional assistance at a low price, you should be aware that there are some in-person hearing aid fitting options in the $1,250 to $3,500 per pair range. Many independent hearing care practices offer quality hearing aids around this price, and warehouse retailers like Costco offer hearing aids starting at about $1,600 per pair.

If you prefer an online experience other than Injoy, there are several other online companies, such as Direct Hearing. Similarly, ZipHearing, Yes Hearing, and hear.com combine lower online pricing with local, in-home, or telecare services. When comparing these providers, it’s worth looking beyond the hearing aid price to what is included after the sale—including adjustments, repairs and servicing, warranties and trial/return policies, and access to professional support when you need programming help, troubleshooting, or something goes wrong.
