I couldn't manage without them. They go on the first thing in the morning and stay on until i go to bed at night, i do have various ALD that connect to the hearing aid streamer that are well worth their cost. I use them for the phone and the TV and use the tele-coil for other listening environments.
My hearing aid is Oticon Chili SP9 and has nothing to do with my hearing loss (which has gotten worse since the purchase of the hearing aid). Everyone's hearing loss is different and the aids only help so much according to your loss. I love this hearing aid, though and Oticon representatives have been very helpful.
I am legally deaf with bi-modal aids. CI in the right ear and HA in the left--left ear tested has 12-14% word recognition. So one could not expect to understand conversations well with it alone. What the hearing aid gives me is binaural fuller richer sound that is so much greater than I would expect. Together my word recognition score is 100% I am now a bi-lateral Cochlear America implant user and delighted.
