About the ReSound LiNX Quattro
ReSound LiNX Quattro was introduced in 2018, replacing the earlier ReSound LiNX 3D product family and offering improved sound quality, rechargeability, 2.4 GHz connectivity, and remote fine-tuning.
New Product Alert
If you are considering LiNX Quattro, please take a look at the much newer ReSound Nexia, which supersedes ReSound LiNX, One and Omnia models.
Utilizing ReSound “Smart Hearing” sound processing technology, LiNX Quattro has an extended dynamic range and improved frequency response. It also offers less lag time in streaming and stronger wireless signal strength for enhanced ear-to-ear performance and localization of sound.
Compared to the previous LiNX 3D product family, the chip platform has twice the memory, 100% more speed, 30% more computing power, and a new wireless radio that requires 20% less power to stream audio. It also enables advanced speech processing that improves speech understanding in background noise.
And a rechargeable option provides more than a full day of power, even when streaming phone calls, TV and music, with a portable charging case small enough to fit into a handbag or pocket.
Direct streaming from Android phones
ReSound, which was the first hearing aid brand to offer Made-for-iPhone compatibility, got more attention in September 2019 for making the LiNX Quattro the first hearing aid to provide support for direct wireless audio streaming from Android devices. When Google released an update to the Android 10 operating system, Google’s Pixel smartphones became be the first Android phones to support direct streaming to hearing aids.
The streaming specification is also open source. ReSound says to expect other manufacturers of hearing aids and Android devices to offer direct audio streaming to the LiNX Quattro hearing aids “in the near future.”
2.4 GHz wireless streaming accessories
Prior to its iPhone hearing aids, ReSound was a pioneer in 2.4 GHz wireless technology streaming solutions. Among other things, ReSound wireless accessories were the first to eliminate cumbersome "neck loops" that had been required to transmit audio signals to hearing aids.
Now ReSound offers a complete range of 2.4 GHz wireless streaming accessories for the LiNX Quattro hearing aids to complement its Made-for-iPhone and Android technologies. Streaming accessories include a remote microphone and wireless streaming of TV audio.
“The best smartphone app in the industry”
Hearing Tracker included ReSound LiNX Quattro on our list of “Best Hearing Aids in 2019.” In addition to noting its direct Android and iPhone streaming capability, the review highlighted the integrated ReSound Smart app:
It also has the best smartphone app in the industry. It allows you to make all kinds of adjustments to your program settings and even allows you to receive remote adjustments from your hearing care professional.
The redesigned app features one-tap access to most important functions, including program changes, program favorites, and sound enhancer adjustments.
