Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. The majority of the time I am not even aware I have a hearing problem - when I take it off I kind of go wow! I have a conductive hearing loss which is aidable with conventional hearing aids. Is Soundbite perfect, no? Is it better than conventional aids, yes? With my Soundbite I can wear headphones, wear a helmet without taking it off, hear great outside with NO wind noise! In normal home and office environments it's close to perfect. Times when I have problems - sitting close to a window (e.g. in car) can cause feedback. In loud environments (e.g. church/concerts) there is clipping/distortion. Battery life is basically as advertised which is around 7 hours before changing ITM device. Some days I do get caught short so it is necessary to plan. Now I'm in a pattern with charging I can alternate the ITM twice a day and get 16 hours of usage. I was lucky to have multiple choices; no hearing aid, conventional hearing aid, BAHA or Soundbite. I didn't fancy the surgical implant for BAHA so Soundbite is an excellent option.
