Widex CLEAR Reviews

Hearing aid reviews are fundamentally different from reviews for most other consumer electronic products. The reason is because individual factors, like degree of hearing loss, have a profound effect one's success and overall satisfaction with the product. When purchasing a hearing aid, you'll need to consider more than just your hearing outcome ... Continue reading

Hearing aids in my experience really have not helped in most situations. Microphone is behind the ear, noisy restaurant you hear conversations behind you not the person sitting across from you! On the phone, microphone is covered up by ear, large room poor acoustics no help at all. Not sure I would spend this kind of money again?

The Widex 440 are good hearing aids for normal everyday use. When speaking with individuals, or where only one person in a meeting is speaking, they help greatly. I have the Com-Dex which is an excellent device for connecting to my smartphone, although sadly it only streams in mono. The TV-Dex is an invaluable accessory and enables me to hear the TV and music from my PC in stereo with very high quality and clarity. I do still struggle in noisy environments (e.g. restaurants) and I have not found the functionality of the Com-Dex app to be much help with that (i.e. setting directional focus). I am hoping for some product development that will do away with the Com-Dex altogether and let me control my aids directly from my phone.

If you have trouble with your hearing get tested. Hearing aids will help.

They are an improvement over old aids because of t-coil and improved voice and music quality. They are not good in a noisy environment, and barely hear voice over noise at times. Use a blue tooth streamer to help with phone, and have a wedex t-coil phone hand set that really is nice.

I switched from a Burnafon to a Widex after several weeks because of problems with the former.  Unfortunately, I did not have much luck with Widex Clear.  The voice sound is tinny; there is very little difference between speech in noise and "master", it slips off my earlobe and I have a lot of trouble hearing in a group setting.  Not a satisfactory experience for the price.
