Balance Control in People With Hearing or Vestibular Loss in One Ear

Hearing loss in both ears is a known risk factor for falls, but people with unilateral hearing loss appear to have more conscious control over their responses in their environment, resulting in comparatively better balance.

Experiences of Adult Hearing Aid Owners During and After Fitting: A Systematic Review of Qualitative Studies

For clinicians, the study suggests a need for improving the quality of services and HCP-patient trust, greater patient-centered counseling and training on HA use, and acknowledging/integrating the patient's point of view towards their hearing journey. For HA manufacturers, the study suggests needed improvements in sound quality, comfort in physical fit, appearance and design, and affordability.
