An optically-guided cochlear implant sheath for real-time monitoring of electrode insertion into the human cochlea

This study demonstrated, for the first time, that an optically-guided CI sheath can allow surgeons to see the cochlear walls so they can adjust the insertion trajectory and improve the positioning of the sheath, avoiding insertion trauma. In the future it's possible that robotic insertion methods may provide further improvements in control of the speed and direction of the electrode to preserve residual hearing.

IHS Purchases Building Complex for New International Headquarters

The International Hearing Society (IHS) closed on the purchase of a building complex in Farmington Hills, Mich, as the new home for the 71-year-old Society representing hearing aid specialists.

TIME Magazine recognizes Phonak Audéo Fit as one of the 200 Best Inventions of 2022

Phonak Audéo Fit made this year's list because, as TIME says, "Audéo Fit’s receiver-in-canal device tracks fitness data, such as steps, activity level, and distance walked, while also monitoring the wearer’s heart rate when paired with the MyPhonak app."

GN Store Nord in Q3 2022 delivered 24% revenue growth, while organic growth was -1%, supported by strong initial uptake of ReSound OMNIA

GN Hearing (hearing aid division) delivered revenue growth of 15% in Q3 2022 but 0% organic growth, while GN Audio (headsets) saw revenues increase by 29% with -2% organic growth. Growth was driven by strong performance in Europe while the U.S. and Rest of World saw softer market conditions. OMNIA "is showing strong uptake" while Lively experienced 64% organic revenue growth.
