A law passed on August 22 ensures that button cell and coin batteries, including zinc-air hearing aid batteries, comply with federal child-resistant packaging regulations. However, with an implementation date of February 12, 2023, hearing aid battery manufacturers and retailers needed more time to comply with the new rules. The CPSC has announced it will not enforce the requirements until March 8, 2024.
