USound, an Austrian provider of advanced MEMs loudspeakers, announced today a collaboration with Taiwan's hearing aid component manufacturer OBO Pro2 and chip producer ASE to develop and deliver a reference design for an over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aid.

HEARZAP produced hearing thresholds comparable to those obtained from established gold-standard audiometry suitable for multi-clinic functionality and service access, according to the study published in 'PLOS ONE'. HEARZAP, developed in India, is designed to offer a comprehensive hearing care solution, including hearing screening and threshold assessments, prescription of hearing aids based on hearing loss, and purchase portal, all under the supervision of a certified audiologist.
