I'm 67y/o and have been dealing with tinnitus for so many years that I can't even tell you how long (at least 20 yrs)! Mine sounds like millions of cicadas, pretty much all the time.  Every once in a while, it stops and I wish I knew why so I could keep doing whatever it is that made it stop. I also have mild sensorineural hearing loss now that, along with the tinnitus, impacts my ability to understand speech when there is background noise, low-talkers, or people who don't enunciate clearly. I've begun to feel left out in groups the last few years and want to re-join the conversation!
