Dr Harriet

Harriet Jacobster, Au.D., is an ASHA Certified Doctor of Audiology with over 30 years of experience. She has worked in a variety of settings with various age groups specializing in diagnostics and cognitive disorders.  She earned her Doctor of Audiology from Nova Southeastern University, Florida, after completing her research in Auditory Brainstem Responses. She is also an accomplished musician having earned both a BA and MA in Music Composition.
Dr. Jacobster has served on the faculties of several colleges both in the United States and Abroad, and on staff of several hospitals. She has served on various Boards of DIrectors including the Adult Musicians with Hearing Loss. She was a nominee to the Board of Governors of the American Board of Audiology and was co-chair of the Fundraising Committee for the Association of Medical Professionals with Hearing Loss.  She works closely with the American Tinnitus Association as a counselor to raise awareness and bring hope to people with tinnitus and their families and was chosen as the Guest Healthcare Professional for the Summer, 2015 edition of Tinnitus Today, the publication of the ATA.
To show her dedication to promoting professional standards, Dr. Jacobster served on the  Membership and Professional Compliance Committees of the American Academy of Audiology. To promote consumer relations and encourage education, she was a Professional Advisor to the Westchester Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America for five years. She is also a regular contributor to several publications in Orange County NY, has been a guest lecturer and presenter, and has been featured on AllExperts.com.

 

When not helping her patients improve their lives through better hearing, Dr. Jacobster dedicates time to raising awareness for Animal Abuse.  She is rarely seen without her canine sidekick, Gingy, a rescue dog. She is also a die-hard NY Yankee fan and can occasionally be heard banging out a tune or two on her piano.
