They treated my mom horribly after coming out of ICU with one kidney and a horrible blood infection.. Couldnt or didn't care to make sure she was comfortable. They also wouldn't let me see her the first night I walked all the way to the hospital and have different visiting hours for some reason for different units I guess so I had gotten there too late. Asked for a 5 minute exception since I hadn't seen her since she left in the ambulance but I wasn't allowed and wasn't informed of the visiting hours. They did however give my mom the items I brought for her at least so she didn't have to wait longer on that. They are keeping her for over a week so I hope they get her more comfortable soon. Anyone seeing this prayers are extremely appreciated. With already only having one kidney, this is more serious for her. Anyway, thanks for checking out my two cents on the hospital.
Read moreStay away from this hospital. Do not have your loved ones attend this hospital for the following reasons. Lack of staff. Lack of knowledge and care from the nursing staff, doctor staff, down to the rude and unprofessional front desk in the emergency room. The lack of empathy and disrespect towards families is very unpleasant and unprofessional. Kicking out families and have them wait in the parking lot is down right awful, while they have many empty waiting areas within the building. Claiming that they are under construction or hiding behind the Covid restrictions that other hospitals do not have. We were asked at leat 4 times about the the medicine that our grandmother takes shows that no one is doing their job correctly. Please, if you value your loved ones health and safety. Stay away from this hospital. They tend to be this careless for many years and do not care iabout your loved ones as a patient in their run down hospital.
Read moreI'm not sure what all these poor rates are for. Most are just people that need some attention. Lol. But let me tell you guys. I am the biggest complainer on the planet. I always see some that could be better but this place was AMAZING!!!! I'm 47 and have never been to a hospital where everyone took care of your needs. From the phone call for instructions, to the pick up, the people at this hospital made us feel like we were family. Everyone was so nice and took care of the issue on the spot instead of passing it down for someone else to deal with.
Read moreI stayed here for a brain injury. First, I waited for several hours in the ER in a wheelchair (I couldn't walk) where staff just forgot about me and left me in a corner because I could not move myself. I was extremely dizzy and nauseous. Finally when I was seen for an ekg I began vomiting. Afterwards I asked for a cup of water, which was declined by the rude nurse as they "didn't want me to throw up". I told her I already just threw up and the nurse rolled her eyes at me and walked away. When I was admitted, I was brought to the wrong unit by transport and the unit nurses had no idea why I was there and were unaware of my condition or the fact I was a fall risk. When I was moved to Neuro I made staff aware I was a vegetarian and did not eat meat for religious purposes. They basically shrugged and said they couldn't help me. I had to eat meat or I couldn't eat at all. On my second day there (I stayed for three full days) nurse Victoria didn't come to give me my medication until two hours after shift change. As a result I was extremely nauseous and dizzy, unable to eat. Nurse Vickie refused to administer my medication and instead gave me an injection of benedryl. I asked once more for my medication and Victoria stood in my doorway laughing at me, insinuating that I was lying about my symptoms and that I was a drug seeker. First of all, I don't do drugs or drink and there is nothing that indicated such a thing on my medical records. I began to cry and have a panic attack as a result of her disgusting and cruel behavior towards me. Another nurse had to come in because my heart rate was so high and needed to comfort me. I asked this nurse for my medication and it was administered by another nurse within 10 minutes. I told them I would like another nurse because of Victoria's unprofessional and abusive behavior. They basically said there was nothing they could do, they didn't have enough nurses due to "staff shortage". She remained my nurse for the rest of the day shift and ignored all of my call lights. I was a fall risk and needed assistance moving to the bathroom because again I could not walk on my own. Yet I was forced to hold my urine for hours because of this neglect. At 2pm my PCT Natalie came by and I mentioned that I was really backed up and was unable to use the facilities, I asked for something to help move things along. This request was again ignored until the night shift nurses came. At 5pm my IV overfilled with blood and began spilling over onto my skin and clothes. I alerted PCT Natalie of this who went to ask Victoria. I waited and waited but she never came. I asked Natalie again and she was like "oh she didn't come?? I thought she would have by now." and I asked if she could get somebody else to do it because my nurse was being mean to me and neglecting my needs. Another nurse came in within 5 min, the same one who came in during my panic attack, and she flushed my IV and informed me that IVs need to be flushed every 12 hours, and since mine hadn't been flushed since shift change the night prior I was overdue. My nurse should have done this in the morning. The abuse and neglect I experienced has given me long lasting medical trauma and Macneal has done nothing to rectify it. I reported this to Sonia and she never bothered to respond. I can't go into an ER without having severe anxiety and I will never stay here again. There are a few nurses who go above and beyond there, like Katie, Anna, and Gabe, but unfortunately this place is an absolute hell and no one else there treats you like human. This is wrong. Shame on you Macneal and especially shame on you Icky Vicky.
Read moreAbsolutely abhorrent. My grandmother was there for a surgery to remove a lump related to her recent cancer diagnosis and her after care has been awful. She has not been fed properly, she caught COVID while she was there and they even tried to discharge her while still sick with COVID. The doctor didn't even see her, the social worker doesn't do her job and the only saving grace in that place is the nurses. Don't go here. The girls at the front also lie about the hours the cafeteria is open. Loyola has become number 1 in disappointment.
