Having two or more major cardiovascular risk factors increases chances for hearing loss

In males, two or more of the major cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors—specifically diabetes, hypertension, and smoking—were associated with hearing loss, and it was the same for women with the exception of hypertension. Knowledge that certain risk factors are associated with hearing loss may guide doctors' recommendations for hearing evaluations and intervention for at-risk patients.
