AAA Addressing Medicare Claims Processing with AB Modifier for Limited Direct Access

The American Academy of Audiology (AAA) reports its members are receiving denials for Medicare claims submitted using the AB modifier that relates to the new Medicare policy for limited direct access for audiologists to see beneficiaries without a physician order. AAA has notified CMS of the situation and is urging fast resolution of the problem.
